Yes, the Book of Jasher does fill in the story but I would advise that you chew carefully and spit out the bones so to speak of the book of Jasher. When I had issues between the Book of Jasher and the Translations that are available to use I would defer to an interlinear for guidance and then also found that some interlinear reference books also have shortcomings

I would recommend that you spend time considering the context oof the source texts and confirm for yourself if the committee actually provided a reliable translation or whether or not other agendas got in the way within the committee responsible for the particular translations.

Anyway, have fun in your searching for the truth of the matters.
