greetings friends,

I am a 22y/o male looking to convert to Christianity.

for a few months now I have quit smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, swearing, hating, porn and do what one does when he watches it, I try not to think sexual thoughts, I completely stopped listing to the devil's music on the radio, i try not lie i pray everyday, before meal and bed.

I left home to live at a hotel for personal reasons, but will go back home in a few months.

I have been looking for an apartment/hotel while I was living with my family, this took weeks because the price had to be right. one day I called several hotels, and the manager was not in, so something told me to call this last hotel. I called and they gave me the lowest price, and here I am today writing to u from my room. I don't know if it is God working, but I happen to be beside a church so close, I can reach it walking in less than a minute. I need to know what steps I can take. thanks

God can hear you, even know ,all you need is open your mouth and speak, His arms are not so short He cant reach your nor is He deaf to those who seek Him, call and believe he will answer, he loves you more than you know and nothing pleases Him more than those who seek Him

You need to pray to God that you want Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. You are not coming to a religion, you are coming to the Person of Jesus Christ.

All the things you say you have quit are well and good, but they play no role in your salvation. Till you come to Christ, you are not saved.

Get a Bible that contains the 66 inspired words of God. 39 in the Old Testament. 27 in the New Testament. Begin reading the Gospel of John. It is the 4th book in the New Testament. When you're finished, go back to Genesis and read the whole Bible.

Find a Church. No homosexual, or women preachers. Make sure they believe the Bible is the Word of God.

These are all external things. It's your heart that needs to change. You become a Christian when you submit to Jesus Christ as your Lord and let Him rule your life. You can do that any time - even before you go to church. But go to church anyway, to meet other Christians.

The road you choose is yours, you may find peace and happiness or you may find trouble and misery.

Is that supposed to be 'deep'? Pay attention to the title of the thread. You have nothing to offer.

I think you're right, it was a hit and miss affair. But to say I have nothing to offer, you mean here or all together.

I don't think you have anything to offer as an agnostic other than arguing for your faith. And there are categories at the bottom of the forum page for that. Unorthodox and interfaith.

Hello m241996 and Welcome,

You are moving in the right direction. If you have a Bible begin reading the Gospel of John to see who Christ is and how He can save you.

I would like to thank all those who replied. I know by converting i can call myself a Christian. this is just a title, I want to build a close relationship with God. didn't Jesus say no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

thru Jesus this is all possible. I asked Jesus Christ to come into my heart as my lord and Savior.

this is my wish. I will read what stranger suggested, and drop by the church I live near. god bless us all, thanks again.

I want to build a close relationship with God.
May I suggest a couple of ideas.
google christianityexplored for churches in your area that run this course and get in touch with one of them.
The course will enable you to discuss aspects of Christianity without committing yourself to church attendance. It will also let you get to know the Christians running the course.
or
google churches and look at there websites and just ring/email the minister to arrange to talk with him.
That or just start attending church as an interested nonchristian and ask questions like.
Why do you believe that? and What evidence do you have for that?
