Here is what we do know.
1. Christ stated in Matthew 24 that the events which lead up to His return are as follows:
.....A. The GT/AC.
.....B. The moon to blood and sun blackened "immediately" after the GT.
.....C. The DOTL.
2. The Acts 2: 17-21 speech (containing moon to blood and sun blackened) took place on Penecost some 40 days after Christ's assention.
3. John, some 60 years after Peters speech, wrote Revelation describing the GT, the AC and the sixth seal (moon to blood and sun blackened) as still future events.

Now, if Peter, in his speech, implied that the "moon to blood and sun blackened" occured sometime after Christ's crucifiction but before pentecost, then that would mean that the GT and the AC's rule had to occur while Christ was alive. Is there any evidence you are aware of that the GT and the AC's rule occured during Christ's time? If not, then Peters quote of Joel 2 could not have been implying that the "moon to blood and sun blackened" had happened in the days shortly after Christ crucifiction.

Now, there are those that feel that the siege on Jerusalem fulfilled the GT prophecy in Matthew 24. If this were true then the "moon to blood and sun blackened" event would have occured "immediately" after the Jerusalem's fall. The problem with this is that John stated, some 20-30 after the fall of Jerusalem, that the "moon to blood and sun blackened" event, was still in the future. So, unless "immediately" doesn't mean immediately, then the "moon to blood and sun blackened" event didn't occur shortly after the fall of Jerusalem.

For that matter, all of John's Revelation visions (which include descriptions of the AC and the GT) took place 20 -30 years after the fall of Jerusalem. And if this is the case, then the fall of Jerusalem was not the GT and the General that sacrificed a pig on the temple's alter was not the AC.
