Hi there,

So this was a popular thread, back when I was posting on another board: Name something you like about a denomination (of Church) other than your own!

I would post something myself, but I don't want to prejudice others' ideas.

Are they (the other Churches) pro-active? Organized? Methodical? What?

We really should be learning from each other, don'tcha think?

There is something I do admire about the Seventh Dayer's. No matter where they are in the whole world, their services are all on the same subject and same day. I would imagine that is pretty awesome if one is on vacation out of state, or abroad that, if they meet other SDA's they would have a very unified conversation.

I imagine that Catholics and Orthodox churches are on a liturgical calendar as well. Same thing, I suppose.

Pretty sure you are familiar with the Advent calendar. It's like that, but year-round.

Yes, they are much like the Episcopalians in that sense. I was at a memorial service given in an Episcopal church yesterday. Very much like Catholic as I was born and raised Catholic, first communion, confirmation, religious instructions Tuesday's after public school...and the 3 older of us kids had to walk quite a ways to Mass on Sundays until my mother decided to switch to Lutheran...also kind of Catholic. I did enjoy the reverence given to The Lord yesterday and did receive Communion as they do not believe in transubstantiation...if so, I would not have been able to take it since not being in union. It was the most beautiful service I have ever been to for one of the most beautiful young souls taken too soon. He was 31 and died in his sleep from a heart attack! He was just sitting up on his couch, looking like he was sleeping. He was the salt and the light of the earth and he will be missed greatly. The service beautiful asd it was doesn't mean I'll be joining that church any time soon, lol...

Well I happen to like the fact that the Catholic church has an enormous system of hospitals and aid networks to deal with the poor.

YES...I REALLY should read before sending...have a new lap top and the letters ar kind of different than what I'm used to! SORRY CHRIS! Gonna fix that now...thanks!

If you have a problem with spelling or grammar in any given post, Steven will catch it.

I know that from years ago as well as the present. Nothing gets past him.

What's amazing is that I have never been able to catch him in that mistake, lol.

Poetry doesn't count. It can be whatever you want it to be.

That's something else I see from you at times, poetry.

Are you a poet at heart? That would explain your excellence in grammar and spelling.

I've heard poets are masters of language.

VS 1
You don't like me - I understand
Had to get in my face - and make your stand
You’re angry, you tried to insult me
Some day - I hope you'll understand

In all of your yelling you said something telling
You called me a Dipstick
and something just clicked
You called me a Dipstick
and something just clicked

CHORUS
If I'm a Dipstick then you're a quart low
Running your mouth shows what you don't know
Played the big man and let everyone know
If I'm really a Dipstick then you're a quart low
If I'm a Dipstick then you're a quart low

VS 2
Dipsticks are made to read
It measures what's - on the inside
So if that's what you need I'll gladly oblige
Pull it out and see what we find

Pull that stick and wipe it clean
Really no need to make a scene
Send it down deep and get a good read
Now pull it out and see what we need

CHORUS
If I'm a Dipstick then you're -a quart low
Running your mouth shows what you don't know
Played the big man and let everyone know
If I'm really a Dipstick then you're a quart low
If I'm a Dipstick then you're a quart low

VS 3
That Dipstick says a change is past due
What's there is plenty dirty shame on you!
Yup, you're a quart low and it's starting to show
We recommend flushing the whole thing now

You challenged me to a battle of wits
But I won't fight an unarmed man
My calm demeanor is giving you fits
Some day I hope you'll understand
Some day I hope you'll understand

CHORUS
If I'm a Dipstick then you're -a quart low
Running your mouth shows what you don't know
Played the big man and let everyone know
If I'm really a Dipstick then you're a quart low
If I'm a Dipstick then you're a quart low

Repeat CHORUS
Some day I hope you'll understand
Some day I hope you'll understand

How clever of you, Steven! Why do I feel this poem was selected specially for ol' Charlie?
