My church is hosting a concert to raise money for a charity ... kind of. It is actually hosting a concert to raise money for a group of students to go on holiday "for charity". The fact that they are going to a third world country as opposed to Blackpool or Skegness does not alter the fact that it is a holiday.
I have been told that half the money raised will pay for the holiday, and that the other half will go to the named charity. Why not forego the holiday and let the charity have all the money?
