The Law is Holy, but its effect on a human is devastating.

The power of SIN, is the LAW.

It defines you as a sinner, and this causes you to be spiritually disconnected from God.
Once you are (Born again) and """redeemed from the curse of the Law"" by Jesus, then the law has no more power of dominion to define you as anything..
However, if a saved person.... by "walking in the flesh".... falls from Grace, and tries to live a life that is based on faith in themselves and in their deeds to keep themselves saved, instead of trusting in Christ alone to keep them saved..... then the Law again has power over them, to keep them sinning and confessing and repenting.

The reason you find carnal Christians on Forums like this one angry and argumentative about...."well, you have to keep repenting, and confessing, as that is just how it is for a Christian".
NO, thats how it is for a deceived Christian, who has been faith ruined by their cult, their denomination, their lying commentaries, their family, their friends, their Pastor, Minister, Priest, Bishop, or whomever it was that led them to believe the lie that "you'll always sin, so, just accept it". = See, thats the devil's lie.

READER..-
Christ came to give you righteousness and Victory over sin. He didn't come so that you can stay the same as you were before you were saved, except that now you feel guilty about your sinning, whereas before you were saved, you didnt.

The power of the Law ..vs... the Power of Grace, OVER YOU, is determined by what you BELIEVE.
If you believe wrong you empower the Law to empower your flesh to cause you to sin more.
If you believe right, you then allow the dominion of GRACE to give you rest from your striving and self effort which allows the Power of Christ to deliver you from "sin consciousness",.... that is the reason you sin.

Why do you sin? Because you think about sin.
You have allowed your "old man" the old nature, to stay active, by trying to stop sinning by willpower. And when you do that, you empower the law to cause your flesh to be more active, and you sin more, and now you are in a vicious cycle all your life, that leads to no victory over your sin.
So, if you are delivered from this "walking in the flesh" MIND....this "carnal mind".. this wrong believing mind, then you lose that sin consciousness to the point that it has no power over you anymore.
When that is totally under YOUR control, = your MIND = then YOU are free and you are walking in the Spirit.
God's Grace is able to let you REST from your self effort to try to "live right", and once you are in THERE in your BELIEVING, you find rest for your soul and power over your own MIND. = And all of this is strictly connected to how you THINK and what you BELIEVE.
If you believe wrong, you will live wrong.
If you believe right, you will live right.

Hebrews :> tells us that if there had been a way for the law to give righteousness and freedom from sin consciousness, then the Law would have been good for us...... but it does the opposite. IT shows you that you are dirty before God, and it causes you to sin more.
So, GOD came here and offered a one time eternal redemption (THE CROSS) that delivers you from the law's dominion, and allows you God's GRACE to have a NEW MIND that is freed from "sin consciousness".
And THAT is the KEY to "walking in the Spirit".
You have to learn how to exist in Grace. Hebrews 13:9.
The proof that you are walking in the flesh, is if you are sin conscious, sinning, and repenting and confessing, all your Christian Life.
If that is your life, then you are not Believing RIGHT, and your wrong believing is ruining your Christian life.....for how long now? ???
You're born again, you'll go to heaven, but down here, you'll just exist as a sinning , repenting, confessing, Christian FAILURE.

To the rest of the world's unbelievers, the Law is not temporary, as currently they are all damned based on the Law's dominion, that has created them to be "sinners". John 3:36.
Every unbeliever is already Damned, and they are just waiting on the eternal Judgment.
The crime is committed, all that remains is the fulfillment of the sentence, = Hell then the Lake of Fire.
See, a Christ rejector is not damned later at the Grt White Throne, they are damned already, on earth.
The wrath of God is ON an Unbeliever, right now, before they die, and its the Law that creates this terrible situation.
Jesus came to take the law's dominion OFF of a person, and put them "under Grace" = born again.
"you are not under the law, you are UNDER GRACE".
"Jesus came to redeem us from the CURSE of the LAW". and did, if you are born again.

I agree with you up until the point you talk about the "sin consciousness" and describe it as the problem. I don't at all think that "sin consciousness" is the problem. The Law indeed brought a consciousness of sin so that Israel could repent of it. That was a good thing! The Law led them into a life of grace, if only by the Law.

Now this sounds confusing if you don't understand the difference between the OT and NT. There was, in fact, limited Grace under the old covenant, because when men became conscious of their sin, they could offer an animal sacrifice, confessing their sin. They received Grace in this way, even if it did not lead to Eternal Life.

The NT came as a way to bridge the gap between this Temporal Grace and Eternal Grace. The consciousness of sin is just as alive in the NT as it was in the OT. It drives us back to God's Grace, whenever we become conscious of our failure.

To live the Christian life is to live a life of overcoming sin. That means we must be conscious of our sin, and confess it. Otherwise, we will continue in our sin, or stick our heads in the ground like a dumb ostrich! ;)

1 John gives us the remedy. Confess it when you see it in you. When you fail to overcome it, get back on the horse and try again. God is gracious, and He will always forgive, as long as there is love in you for Christ.

This post will undoubtedly throw some off because they are used to the biblical language in which Paul used "short cut" terms to express something much deeper. When Paul spoke of "Faith" or of "Grace," he was speaking of Faith in Christ for redemption and of Grace for Eternal Life.

Under the Law there was both faith and Grace. However, using Paul's terminology using these terms in the OT context would be confusing. I simply have to do so to explain the difference between the testaments without ending up in the heresy of Marcion, dividing the OT and NT into 2 very different gods--one evil and one good.

Grace is not contrary to The Law but Sin is.
Is the desire to live in sin with impunity?.....the definition of sin being the transgression of the Law.

The curse of the Law is Death.....not to be confused with the Law itself
Argue against your Sin not the Law which highlights it. To argue against the Law for the purpose of negating it will surely ensure its penalty.

In Romans 7:8, sin takes advantage of the law in order to produce all manner of concupiscence.

In Romans 7:5, the motions of sins, that bring forth fruit unto death, are by the law.

If you can get a hold of these truths you just may come across a major key to victory over sin.

Paul said....>"sin shall not have dominion over you". "you are not UNDER THE LAW, but under Grace".

Jesus came.. to free us from the ""CURSE of the Law.""

The law is Holy, but its a disaster regarding a human, because all it can do is reflect God's holiness against our unrighteousness.

Trying to keep the law-commandments, will cause you to sin more.
Until you understand why, your Christianity will be a repenting confessing, lifelong fail.

So, if you are trying to teach that the Law is Good, then you need to start keeping over 600 OT Laws and see how that works out for you, as currently, you are not keeping well over 580 of them.

Do. not teach, what you dont understand to try to appear spiritual on a Forum.

So, if you are trying to teach that the Law is Good,

The law is indeed holy, and righteous, and good (Romans 7:12); as a schoolmaster to lead men to Christ (Romans 3:20, Galatians 5:24). It shows us that we are sinners in need of a Saviour so that we will come to the Saviour and be redeemed.

It cannot impart life (Galatians 3:21) but it is able to convert the soul (Psalms 19:7 (kjv)).

Psa 19:7, The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

My Christianity is not "ruined".

And also, I rarely pay attention to commentaries any more; I normally read the Bible alone with reliance on the Holy Ghost to show me what He meant by what is written.

I do sometimes read the notes in my Life Application Bible.

"well, you have to keep repenting, and confessing, as that is just how it is for a Christian".
Well that is exactly how it is for a Christian ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE. This has nothing to do with the Law.

1 JOHN 1 & 2: CHRISTIANS MUST DEAL WITH THEIR PRESENT SINS
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

Which of the Ten Commandments do you object to?

.

If you are confessing and repenting, as your Christianity then you are carnal Christian who is not walking in the Spirit and have real theological issues.

You have been taught the Devil's lie, that its "acceptable to be sinning and confessing and repenting".

Its not Ok, Its not theologically correct, and you should find out why

The Law and Commandments are Holy.
However, they can't redeem you from your sin, or give you righteousness.
If they could, then Jesus could have stated OFF the Cross.
You notice He didnt?
Figure that out.

your going with the bla bla bla again behold

the law is a witness to the fact that Jesus is the One, therefore one should be thankful for the law. you're not getting it the Lord God doesn't for one second think nor expect any man to fulfill the law to His satisfaction. their not supposed to. though yes given to the Israelites they were to walk in its precepts which include offerings for sin and forgiveness for sin. and now as Paul says:

Rom 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Rom 3:25  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Rom 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Rom 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Rom 3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
Rom 3:30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

and this here isn't to accuse all of sin but to say that no one under the sun can do as Jesus the Son of God has done, therefore no man can save himself via his own obedience to the law therefore it the Righteousness of Christ that Justifies. and as Paul says that Faith establishes the law in the earth.

Every Christian is "the righteousness of God, In Christ".
This means that the born again REAL YOU, is the same Righteousness as God.

= "The Gift of Righteousness".

If you dont have this, then you are not saved.
Thats the reality.
