Matthew 22:

14 “For many are invited, but few are chosen.”
Revelation 7:

9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
Relatively speaking, even the chosen few will become a great multitude.

Another possibility is that some uninvited within their lifetime will also join the great multitude after the resurrection.

Matthew 22:

14 “For many are invited, but few chosen.”

A better contrast with "the multitude" in Revelation 7:9 would be Matthew 7: 13-14: “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few."

The Parable of the Wedding Feast deserves its own topic. The multitude is there also ..

9 Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.’ 10 And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.

... but they seem to get pruned down by at least one.

So, who is this parable directed to? And who are the "chosen"?
