I have my ups and downs with my own prayer life but I have learned a few things along the way ….
I don’t think anyone else can give answers for why another persons prayer is not being answered, only God truly knows the bigger picture with regards to why answers don’t come in the way we have asked for them. There is always a bigger picture and only God can see everything. ( proverbs 3:5-6 )
We might not understand, but we can trust God does x
Also inner change doesn’t always come quickly, and often God uses our circumstances to bring about changes over time. For example I learned to pray for my Ex husband through a painful divorce. He betrayed me and yet God laid it on my heart to pray for him ( he wasn’t a believer ) I was so angry with God at that moment , and refused and couldn’t comply. Over time however the Lord laid another question on my heart ‘ who else is going to pray for him !? ‘ …….in time I was able to pray for him and we were able to remain friends until he passed away a few years ago. The anger I felt toward ps God, and my ex disappeared. My feelings towards my ex didn’t instantly change, what changed was my attitude to what God was asking me to do.
You may not like a person but by praying for them you are taking part in the spiritual battle for them. Ephesians chapter 6 always reminds me that there is a battle taking place in this world. We don’t fully see how our prayer are used within that realm.
Sometimes our circumstances are challenging, like your work situation, yet without fully knowing it the Lord may be using it all to challenge your thinking. The Teacher who is difficult with you, well God knows the bigger picture of your life, Their life, the difficulties and the reasons. Maybe the whole situation is to lead you to consider praying for those people you don’t like or cause you a issue.
I often ask myself what other things have I prayed for prior to the situation arising………
Sorry that you are struggling, pretty sure it’s not an unusual one for most of us and we can relate to it…

I get the job situation, I am in a physical job and like you I feel totally drained on every level when I get home. I am on a different age scale to you.
I am grateful that I can journal and often write prayers down but some days all I can muster is ‘ help me get through Lord ‘ …..

Biggest thing about prayer is you are drawing near to God.

Hearing your situations, I went in and out of church and prayed sometimes before I really became a believer in Christ.

It doesn't matter how many hours you work, and sure do understand what you mean by burnt out.

I do not think it matters how many times a day you pray, but the benefit of talking to your Father in heaven, and asking him to help you to not fall in to temptation, to help when you get mad or upset with someone at work if that happens, to help you to have patience, to help you to speak and encouraging word to another, to help you by the Spirit of course. Also though the Father is there to pray on the behalf of others.

It's an important part of being a Christian, having that open communication line to the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ - even though sometimes people can ask with wrong motives; it is said those types of prayers are not to be expected to receive anything for those from the Lord.

1 Timothy 2:1-7

English Standard Version

Pray for All People

2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man[a] Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. 7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

James 1

New International Version

1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:
Greetings.

Trials and Temptations

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
9 Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

The choice to make these decisions is up to you friend.

God bless, its the Bible that helps renew our mind by the power of God through the Spirit looking and believing on the Son of God who was raised from the dead.

Sin does hinder prayer.

John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

Its good that we can always repent and start over. I know I have to at times.

I'm sorry to hear about the lack of time for prayer, feeling not good enough to be anything but a custodian, and feeling like you're wasting life.

Sometimes, my best prayer fuel is actually an angry determination to see God move in my life. Be determined about seeing a breakthrough from God. Don't be afraid to bug God and keep on asking.

If you need more of God, bug Him until He gives you more of His spirit and power. Don't give up till you see a change.

Think about it. If we actually believed God existed and had all power and was for us, we wouldn't just pray here and there. We'd be constantly trying to believe for good things to happen. We have to pray believing that God will act.

It may not happen right away but God is always working. It may be answered in a spiritual sense but just hasn't taken place in the natural.

Our souls get discontent and frustrated and hungry. I channel that when I'm praying. Im no longer afraid to say, "God I need you and I won't stop coming to you until a breakthrough happens."

Ever just get mad? Use that. Keep bugging God until He shows up. I honestly feel like the best prayer motto is simply, "Don't give up."

Father, in Jesus name, I speak against the lies of the enemy and anything saying negative things over the life of AlwaysOnAJourney. Thank you for his faith and his prayer requests. Please send angels to war on his behalf. Fill his cup with courage, purpose, vision, hope, and anointing.

I plead the blood of Jesus over his mind and heart. I ask that you give him a breakthrough in his career, relationships, and ministry. Give him reassurance that You are not finished with Him.

I praise and thank You Jesus for the things you will do in this brother's life.

Amen.

Don't lose faith in God and therefore don't lose faith in prayer. God is really there. I know it can be hard but what can increase your faith also is if you write down all the time God had come around and answered your prayer or had been nice to you. Then you will know that He is there. "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all things will be given to you as well". God bless you!

We can presume all kinds of things about what would make our situations easier or better but the outcome may not be what we presume. Trust and faith is about believing that God can and does work with us as individuals and within the limitations. I have a friend who’s son has learning difficulties, he was often an outcast at school and definitely not in the popular crowd. He is now over 30, has a steady girlfriend and is the pastor of a church, he is able to come alongside people and is well respected. I never would have thought he would have achieved so much ( shame on me ) God can do amazing things with all that we are because he values everything about us and can use the things in our lives that we struggle with. That friend son has a powerful testimony because with God he achieved things despite his difficulties.
God isn’t limited by our limitations Xxx

Have you ever thought about becoming a truck driver? My husband went through a paid training program and got his CDL. There is a written exam but everything else is practical and hands on. The pay is good and you get to travel and be independent.

Thank you for your prayers.

I was aware when I made my comment that there are scriptures people use to back up the view that sin hinders prayers. However, I don't know of ANYONE that is completely sinless. Therefor there might be a misinterpretation of those verses. If it were possible to completely get sin out of your life, then there should be lots of Christians living a sinless life, and getting every prayer answered exactly the way they asked because they would always be walking in God's will.
Trust in the words of GOD . sin does hinder prayer .
If you are aware of your sins there is one ye can call upon who can succor you through all things .
THE GOD and HIS CHRIST KING JESUS . How many apostels were put in prison and even killed .
most of them . Didnt mean GOD didnt hear their prayers . Whatever GOD allows to come against us
HE WILL be with us . And often men are the causes of some of our own problems .
Just start fresh in the LORD . stop letting your cirumstances overwhelm you . Many are the afflictions of the lambs
Now no chastening feels good , but GOD always works all things together for the good of those who love Him .
That our trust and our hope be in HE alone , in Christ alone . Stop worrying what folks do to you
JUST LIVE FOR GOD and hope in HIM and no matter what we go through our peace abounds in and by HIM .
Paul , silas and others COULD and DID SING , EVEN IN PRISON . EVEN IN PRISON .
Put the focus back on GOD and get your focus off of your surroundings .

Are you sinless?
JESUS IS . when or if a sin is made known to you , simply repent of it .
Its an easy walk in Christ my friend . he gave us a pattern by which to live .
You listed serveral faults . You confessed them , now repent of them and dont look back .
In CHRIST we are not powerless against sin . you obviously know you have faults .
Now pray ye to GOD for power over them . Sin can and will harden a heart .
It will lead you down a path that leads you away from GOD .
It will break down our faith in HIM , our trust in HIM . IT sure can harden a heart .
You are following a dangerous path which, by your own admission is causing you to lose hope , faith , trust in GOD .
I have simply come to help you my friend . You well said you had faults , now pray to GOD for power over them
and flee all appearance of evil . Bring those thoughts captive to the obeidance of Christ .
WE DO have SPIRITUAL WEAPONS my friend . I will be praying for you as well .
but the path you are on is causing you to stumble and leading you away from GOD . I just desire good for you .

I have tried to confess and repent over and over and over and over and over and over and over again for years. It's like the old saying: "You can run but you can't hide". I was listening to the 10 Minute Bible Hour. The other day He talked about one of the sins I listed. The man's been around for a long time and still hasn't figured out how to handle that one particular sin. And that is probably true of lots of people.
Well , often folks forget what we must do. james did not teach just resist the devil and he will flee ,
He said SUBMIT TO GOD , RESIST the DEVIL and HE will flee .
Your allowing your flesh to convince you this cannot be done .
I bet if i pointed a gun to your head everytime you tried to sin , YOU WOULD not do that sin .
an example , If your sin is say , viewing pornography and every time
you tried to put it on your computer i just showed up with a gun , YOu would be like , NO way i am gonna watch that stuff .
The problem is lots of pastors have given us a false hope , a false comfort . they are no longer grave against sin .
They often preach no matter how often ye sin you just cant lose salvation .
BUT DID PAUL teach it that way , OR did he say , WHO ye obey IS WHO YE BELONG TOO .
Pual put the TRUTH to the churches . He warned them against sin . Even says dont let it once be named .
Even warned those who did sin , if they repented not he was coming with the rod .
Save some by fear and others by compassion . You are not being condmend by me my friend .
Just reminded . Submit to GOD . you will be prayed for my friend .
It was good that you did confess you faults , but now its time to flee them .
I will be praying for you as well my friend .

You bring up some hard theology. Theology that people have beat each other over the head for generations. That's exactly why I put this in the prayer group! Because I'm not convinced that we can logically argue this out and come to a good conclusion. But you can pray that God will change hearts. And maybe through your prayers I'll make a change. But you can't argue me out of it, because I've been around too long and heard probably 90 percent of the arguments, and stuff. I find myself say, "yeah good point" "yeah good point" that's the way it goes. As it's been said, you can make the bible say whatever you want it too, by what scriptures you lean on the hardest. My first half of my life was in a Church that believed you could loose your salvation. My second half of my life was spent in a Church that didn't. I found myself straddling the fence between those two theologies. It didn't feel good! And it doesn't feel good now.
If E = mc2 then we can divide and conclude that...

Mass (m) = Energy (E/c2)

And there are three varieties...

Natural E/c2 - All mass is basically cooled plasma
Mental E/c2 - Mentally, A mathematical formula, but this has chemical and spiritual properties as well.
Spiritual E/c2 - E (motivation, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. - 1 John 1:5

Unfortunately, though, the light and the darkness interact here on planet Earth...Comparing the light and the darkness, the opposite of E/c2 would be z (absolute zero)/ d (darkness)...

Natural z/d - Nothing, empty space.
Mental z/d - Again nothing but empty space.
Spiritual z/d - z (laziness, coldness, hatred) / d (fear, despair, greed, sorrow)

A correct spiritual E/c2 is an important ally for any life. Along with prayers that God helps illuminate and warm the life along the way.
