Here's the thing, I have been going to church in Italy now for the past 3 days and I have read the new testament and I am reading a book about Jesus Christ.
I have not been baptised, but I seek to. I havent been Christined as a baby either.
I follow Jesus Christ, and his words in the bible. I accept his salvation and love him for it as my saviour and forgiver of my sins.
I have prayed in the church and at home privately.
I don't know where to go from here. Can I be baptised for free? I am only 16. Do I require parents to attend? I am unsure. It would be of great help if someone could answer.
Thank you and god bless.

I can answer your questions for you, but it would be best to contact me directly. Click on my picture and it will take you to my profile. There you will find the info you need to contact me.

Baptism is free. You don't need your parents permission, but it would be a good idea to discuss it with them.

Welcome to the forum Thomas Leonard!

I look forward to hearing more from you. I suppose zeke25 is a Catholic, so he would know how to be baptized into the Catholic Church. Catholics are in a minority here, most people from this site are from other various denominations. Something all Christians share is a desire for more people to be saved and come to Christ. You could also call the church, or ask a deacon or clergyman on Sunday how to get baptized. They should take it from there.

Please let us know how it goes, I look forward to welcoming you as brother!

Praise be to God, welcome to the family of Christ :D !

I remember being in exactly the same place you are ... find a Bible based church and speak to a Pastor about what you want to do
concerning baptism.

Hi thomas!
Welcome to Christianity Board.
There are many Christian groups represented here from various denominations. Denominations are just different types of Churches who believe in Jesus. I would say that there is a strong core group of Baptist believer's here, sprinkled with other protestant groups including a small portion Catholics and Pentecostals [like myself]. ^_^

To answer your questions directly...

Ask the Pastor or minister of the Church that you are involved in, if you can be baptized there. This may mean having to do a study depending on the way your Church functions. Baptisms are free and it is always a good to have parental involvement particularly at this most celebratory time of your life and it is also a good witness but not necessary. It is best that you discuss this with your Pastor or the minister of your Church...

I originally came from a Baptist background so I got baptized in a Baptismal pool at the church. I did a Baptism study along with a number of other young people and then a date was set. We invited our families and friends to come and watch. Each one of us got up and talked about how we came to Christ [a testimony] then we were baptized by the Pastor and youth Pastor. After that our chosen song was sung by the church and then we waited for anyone who may have a prophecy or a word from the Lord for us....it was so cool! after that we had a combined lunch. An all round perfect day. Pastor also made us each a "date of Birth" certificate which I still have. :)

This may not be how your present Church operates but you should just ask your Pastor/Minister about it

Bless you!

Nope. I'm not a Catholic. I am quite familiar with their doctrine since I've studied it intensely. That's one of the reasons why I'm a Christian, not a Catholic. :)

A Christian, not a Catholic? Did you intend that insult or was it a slip of the tongue?
