8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. - Romans 6:8,11.

Identity controls how you think. Whatever you identify with is how you will think and act. If you identify with the old man knowledge still, then you will act on that. You may dress it up and smoothe it out to fit what you believe - but you will act out from that identity. As a man thinketh so is he - out of the abundance of the heart man speaketh. You don't have to worry about finding out all about someone .. you will get that is time because whatever is in them comes out. It's automatic..or spontaneous we call it.

Knowing your identity is important because that is what you will live. Paul - in trying to give us proper identity tells us to reckon.. reckon ourselves dead - dead in Christ. Why does Paul want us dead? because we are dead in Christ. To God you are as dead as Jesus - we are the only ones keeping the old man alive hanging on by a thread if you will. It is not God doing it ..he crucified the old man (sin nature) in Christ and gave the new Christ in you identity!

If identity keeps you through thick and thin, so to say, then proper identity is more necessary and needed more when things are good. In the world things will be bad at times, and we have the good at times. The world always balances out as we have talked about. Look at nations filled with Christians that live under oppression. They have to look to they're identity to get through and live with sustenance. If you look at the nations where things are better - most of those nations turn to outer things to sustain them.

Point in that is; in oppression you learn grace to get through the bad. In the good we really need a lot of grace to go through the good lest we forget who we are. Understanding who you are keeps believers either way, but the good is harder on a christian than the bad. Look at communism - christianity thrives and usually ministers spiritually to those that live in better situations. Why is that? we forget who we are in the good, and it is a natural reaction for the good to try to eliminate the bad. Why would you do that when they are the ones that thrive and give more to the body than those in the good.

We spend a lot of time living in the good - just to keep up with living in the good. It takes a lot of time and money to follow good and keep up with it. What does oppression do - it keeps an individual clawing out a living when things are bad. Now I'm not for communism but it is in the world and it needs to be addressed. We see it as an evil, but it just may be that our father can take care of his children. You see grace runs right down the middle of good and bad.

The pendulum always swings back and forth to keep the world rocking along as the Lord does what he is doing in the world. What is he doing in the world? birthing children. Jesus' did not confront all the evil of his day - slavery and wicked governments. He addressed the religion of his day because that oppression is worse than what any type of rule can put on humanity. Religion is the greatest of all evils to be perpetrated on mankind. You cannot be yourself - or be who you are. Religion robs people of they're proper identity - that is what Jesus addressed!

It will get worse. You can see the pendulum swinging. Those that had no freedoms, some are gaining that freedom. Those that seemed free, are slowly loosing that freedom. The pendulum swings!

The country I live in has had it so good (and thank God) - but we have had to formulate a gospel to fit us, and we can see how all good.. does not fit who we are..lest we forget who we are.

The Messiah called Christ in Greek, was clearly Jesus. The Bible itemizes the family tree to no doubt, fulfilled prophecies also confirms it. Most people on earth believe Jesus was the foretold Christ Soulman.
