If I had wings, which kind of wings would I have?
Butterfly wings?...and when I would open my wings
the world would be inspired by their beautifully arrayed
colors and patterns.
It would be intrigued by the origin of my beginning
once being in the form of a not-so-pretty caterpillar
inching my way along a path, forbearing the hazards along the way
to finally reach my destination and wrap myself in my own silk and
then transforming into a majestic, graceful, creature of flight venturing from
different forms of flowers and spreading their pollen to the next
helping them reproduce after their own kind.
Eagle wings?...with my wings like an eagle I could soar to the highest
places and look out upon the vast horizon seeing for miles.
I would use the currents of the wind to lift me up, propel my direction, or just glide
around searching for my next meal.
When I would meet my perfect mate we would spread our wings, lock our claws and
engage in a spiraling display of oneness, committing to the unity of our relationship,
becoming inseparable for life. We would never abandon one another and our young would forever be protected.
Angel wings?….with my angel wings I could swiftly fly to the aid of my human as a guardian angel should....or an angel of mercy bringing comfort to those who are hurting and desperate for a glimmer of hope.
I would go before the Father and hear His instructions and be obedient to do all that He commands. With my angel wings I would deliver that instruction swiftly to the one who is intended to hear it.
With my angel wings I would spread them out far and wide, touching as many lives as I could possibly touch...bringing healing, hope, love and faith.
With my angel wings I would valiantly fight against the enemy carrying him away in defeat and putting him away forever, never to be a weapon of destruction to God's children ever again.
