Philippians 2:1,
1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
When we talk about knowledge, understanding, revelation, and so forth we are talking from the stand point of revelation. We are teaching about Christianity and the spiritual being. You cannot seperate knowledge and understanding from revelation in Christianity. You should underline the words "in Christ" in our text as well as your whole bible. You see, in those two little words you will find comfort of love, fellowship of the Spirit, and bowels of mercy.
There are those in Christianity that have yet come to understand and know they are in Christ. Most in troubled times don't really know the comfort of love. I have seen those that would rather escape this world than have to face another day. I have sat with some that have said "I cannot put one foot in front of the other, I simply feel like I'm done." I think we all can relate in one form or another because of the things you can go through at times, but those little words "in Christ" cannot be over looked according to scripture.
The knowledge, understanding, the revelation of being in Christ is the greatest weight of scripture we have, but yet at times seems to be the least admonished in Christianity. We glean over the words and as far as delving into the depth of the full revelation of the true meaning seems fruitless to some. The one statement of; you must know you are in Christ, sums up the whole of Christianity. After being born again all of Christianity is based on revelation, everything you get must be revealed. Do you understand how revelation works. That would be a good place to start searching to know that you are "in Christ."
Those that lack the "in Christ" understanding tend to have to stand on either some form of doctrine or their own understanding, Proverbs 1:2-5
2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
