My wife and I cook on a gas hob. But it needs replacing.
I suppose the simplest & cheapest option would to buy another gas hob.
However in these "save our planet" days we thought we might consider an electric induction hob as less polluting.
Has anyone any experience with these?
And has anyone had any experience with both?
What are your thoughts?

Maybe electric is less polluting in its domestic use but what about its source.

The answer comes back to the reliability of the energy source and their relative costs.

Also the change over costs should be considered as well. The gas stove can be disconnected and the new stove connected with minimal costs.

The installation of the induction stove requires new electrical wiring that is suitable for the energy input needs of the stove. The wiring of the house may have to be upgraded right up to the house electrical service connection and the service wire may also need to be upgraded by the service utility.

As far as cooking on an induction stove, it is no different to cooking with a gas stove.
