Ecclesiastes 5

Insufficiencies Of Human Religion, Wealth Brings Difficulties,

1 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

6 Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

7 For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

8 If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

9 Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.

10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

11 When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?

12 The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.

Wealth Brings Difficulties

13 There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.

14 But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand.

15 As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.

16 And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?

17 All his days also he eateth in darkness, and he hath much sorrow and wrath with his sickness.

Wealth Comes Ultimately From God

18 Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.

19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.

20 For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.

Biblical Wealth, and having it, is an interesting Bible subject.

Paul calls it "filthy lucre" in Titus, but admonishes one of His planted Churches for not giving enough into His ministry.

Deut : 8, tells us that God gives us ""the power to get wealth"", and that is related to establishing the/His "covenant".

And in the NT, it "costs to reach the Lost".

And one of the ways the lost are "reached" is.. they go into a church building and get saved. And that church has to pay the electric bill and the Pastor's Salary.

Jesus said that "give and it shall be given unto you = pressed down and given back".., and He's also talking about money.

Jesus said its ""more blessed to give.. .then it is to receive""... and he's also talking about money.

Many believers feel they are directed by the scriptures to : "tithe and offerings", and if you dont have any money, then how can you obey?

How can you give to the poor if you are too poor to give yourself some food?

There is the "love of money" and there is "the prosperity gospel". They are extremely related.

There is also "seedtime and harvest" in the world and this is also found in the spiritual realm as "sowing and reaping".

I would tell you that there is the "poverty gospel" that claims that suffering hunger, and sleeping on the street in the winter, and having nothing... is going to make you more ""spiritual.""
It wont.
It'll make you more hungry, more bitter, and it'll help you die suffering at a younger age.

Now.....Let me ask you a question.....

Have you ever been really hungry...... just starving.....?
And did this make you love God more?
Did it make you want to pick up a bible and memorize some verses?

So, that is how that works... yet... if you set aside some time to fast and pray, then God will meet you because you are "diligently seeking Him" and that is different....
That's alone time with God.... = will help you to understand some things about the "flesh" .

If you wanted to teach a SS Class about money.

You would tell them that : "Money matters"".

Try buying food without it.
Try using the internet if you dont have any electricity.
Try reading the bible by candlelight because you have no money to pay the power bill.
Try going to the food store and you have no car and no money.

Money matters.

And if you have a issue with money, if you love it too much....vs wanting to have PLENTY... as that is not the same thing.. then you are the problem, not the money.

What does having "Plenty of money" mean?

It means that you have enough at all times for any situation.
If the car breaks down, you can pay for the repair or get another one.
If your neighbor needs a washing machine, you buy them one, or a lawn mower, or a car.
If your mother needs ......
If your brother needs .......
If your child needs. ......
if YOU need .......

Then "plenty" = is to have enough so that everyone can benefit from yours, including you.

Here is something to remember, regarding all ye who would want to know..

The Bible teaches.. that ..

"= Poverty is the DESTRUCTION of the POOR"...... not prosperity.

Now, Let me show you one more thing to think about, Reader.

It's this..

When you became a Christian, born again, its because God purchased you with the Blood of His Son.
NO Cross of Christ, then no Salvation for anyone, ever.
You are "bought with a Price", and that price is the Sacred and Holy Blood of Jesus THE Lord.

You are now "OWNED" by God, and you are a Son/Daughter of God.

So what does that mean? = To be redeemed BY The Blood of The Lamb, regarding your wealth?

It means that all of you, and everything you own, belongs to God.

Literally, you dont own anything. .. God owns it and you are getting to use it.

So, as you have become an HEIR of God, you also become an owner of all that God is, all that God has and all that God can provide.

:But understand that this is you using what GOD owns.

So, when you have PLENTY of Money, or a nice house, or anything else... it all belongs to God.
You are literally using what belongs to your FATHER In Heaven..
So, use it accordingly as a good and faithful Steward....

And why does money you give, come back to you as an Increase, always?

Its because you are giving God's money, and everything with God is going to increase.
That is because the Life of God is always about increase and growth, and never is it about lack or death.
When you give God's money,.. and its all His, then He makes it GROW., as That is just the natural outcome of anything that God touches.
Listen Saint... = what you give away with the right motive, God will touch and bless you again.
See, God only touches things with LIFE, and "that more abundantly".
And that is why you can have Faith in God to restore, return, heal, prosper... all of this.
As when God touches anything, He touches it with LIFE.
And God's LIFE always brings increase.
