I do think that a lot of the people who get crazy piecings and body modifications like this are missing something in their lives, and this is their way of letting it out. It's sad because it seems to me like so many people would benefit from having access to honest counciling to address the roots of their problems but we just don't have the resources for it.

I don't know why a person would want to live with a permanent scar that piercing would cause.
