A few years ago there was a women that came by my church claiming that she has been to heaven, and that God takes her to heaven all the time. I am open to anything and will not write someone off just because their claims are way out there. I know that God has taken people to heaven in the past. As with everything I will give people the benefit of the doubt until they violate some sort of truth that I know from God’s written word or the truth from FACTS that I have already uncovered about a certain subject.
We as the body of Christ should not just take someone’s word for it, but test all things (1 John 4:1). On top of that the bible commands us to be discerning and JUDGE the people in the Church.(1 Corinthians 5:11-13) Yes I did say Judge, there are allot of people today that say when you try to point out any error in leadership “you are judging and we as Christians are not supposed to judge but act in Love”. That is a twisting of scripture that they try to hide behind because they don’t want have to have any accountability.
Kat says that she has visited heaven, not just once but she goes back and forth and a regular basis. She tells her stories of the tours of heaven she has been taken on and then she comes back with messages from God to the Church. She has written a book called revealing heaven

Are her claims true? Does her story add up?

And let's talk about this one...

Since df wrote an article on the topic, I imagine the question was rhetorical, and I too, am curious about the "point".

I already know as well the rhetorical question.
I already differ in an opening invitation from his blog starts with "whats the devil up to"
I'm more concerned with keeping my eyes on the Lord. The devil roams around looking for whom me might devour I hardly have to go looking.

The biblical test for a prophet is to listen to what they say and if it does not come to pass as they said it would then they are a false prophet and they are not to be regarded.

So has this person ever given a prophecy that has not come to pass as they said it would?

Also do they teach anything that is contraditory to the teachings set down in the Bible?

All people who claim the mantle of "prophet" are false by definition. Prophesy is not an extant gift. When the canon of scripture closed so did the need for prophets.

Prophecy didn't close, although perhaps you've closed your eyes. I agree with you that there are many people claiming to be something that they are not, but I believe it is Satan's tactic to blind the people. This is how it works: people claim the banner of Jesus Christ, and profess knowledge of spiritual concepts. Sometimes it comes in the form of a so-called 'prophetic word,' such as: the world is going to end on such and such a date. People who are unlearned in scripture buy in to these predictions. When it is proven false they associate the whole episode with Jesus, because the man claimed to have knowledge from God.

There is a reason why the enemy is flooding the market with false vision: it is designed to discredit and discourage those who will arise with true vision. Anyone who is trying to sell you something, claiming that God has given them a vision, is lying to you. Even if it is a book. If the enemy conditions the people to immediately dismiss all prophetic vision, as you so adequately have done, he succeeds.

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all argument, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance. This principle is, contempt prior to examination." (Origin: Under Discussion)

Some people operate in the spiritual realm; this isn't something new. Not everyone has this ability: ask around, but don't disqualify it just because you haven't experienced it. The classic example is this: I have never been to China; therefore, does it exist? A person could talk to me all day about their journey to the foreign country, even show me pictures, and I could still say it doesn't exist, the pictures were faked... etc. We could argue for days, months, years and come to no agreement. Why? Because I am unwilling to change my belief system based on the experience of another person: I need to see it, taste it, hear it, touch it and smell it for myself in order to believe.

I am not defending the subject of this thread; don't misunderstand me.

"Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." (John 20:29)

Sometimes we are asked to have faith in something that is unseen. Sometimes that which is unseen will reveal itself. Remeber that we are engaged in a spiritual war which has crossed over onto this earth; certain walls have fallen and will continue to fall. There are two sides to this war, and we are standing in a place of ignorance: not everything has been seen. Anyone who thinks the story is complete is just so stubborn that they refuse to look, read and consider.

Two spiritual forces. God designed us with spiritual potential; we are unique in this aspect, and it is why the battle involves us.

"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7)

The entire race fell from grace shortly afterward, but God did not stop communicating.

"It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body." (1 Corinthians 15:44)

So what is my point?

Two spiritual forces engaged in a war and we have become the field of battle; our minds, our bodies, our very soul. The enemy is constantly attempting to deceive the race and sway the outcome. God has assured us of victory, but does that mean we just lay back and watch television until it comes? No! The promised land before us must still be taken. Do you think Satan and his soldiers are just standing around idle... waiting? They are engaged in active warfare at all times. Who knows what motivates them; who cares!? It still remains that we are at the receiving end of an offensive.

There has been a lot of strange writing coming from people who claim to have visited heaven. I could have written better fiction when I was twelve years old, but what can I do to stop the evolving market and the people's yearning for things of this nature? Everything is peaches and cream on the 'other side.' If Satan convinces you that there is no war, then why would you fight it? The easiest way to win a war is to convince the opposition that they have no need to fight; they simply lay down their weapons and walk away.

Yet, some people are being trained for war.

Don't fall into this belief that all is well because it is far from the truth. Every time you believe a lie, or purchase it from your local bookstore, you give it power; you are turning the illusion into a reality, and doing the work of the enemy for him. Misinformation. Go ahead and verify the truth in the word. Realize that there are writers working for an enemy whose sole purpose is to deceive you.

Not all angels work for God. Satan is very good at appearing in forms that you wouldn't recognize him. If you realized that Satan was right in front of you, you would fight him, wouldn't you? But if you thought the person standing in front of you was a Christian soldier, you would embrace him, wouldn't you? How much thought do you really have to put into this?

So with all this going on, people contributing to this thread still think there is no need for guidance? That God simply stays silent and watches from a distance? Really? Come on. Show me where it says anything like that in the sciptures. Where does it say that Paul would be the final contributor to the word of God?

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." (John 14:26)

The teaching is not at an end.

The not so amusing part of all this, is that Satan is well aware of this, but the Christians are not.

You need say no more...

Joh 13:33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.

Yeah, I know...

2Co 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
2Co 12:3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
2Co 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Paul does not say here that he went, he says he doesn't know if he really went or if it was a vision. It seemed so real. When balanced with what Christ said, it has to be a vision. NO ONE goes to heaven.

Chapter and verse please.

Sorry brother, but you are totally wrong. About five years ago I went to heaven. if I didn't, then God is not there because I met him in his throne room.

Wow ok cool cool - I posted this thread because the point is this ---> no one seems to be calling out false prophets, at least not here where we are from. No one seems to even question or test the fruit of these "prophets". People need to test things to the scriptures. And here - at home - people don't.

A few points here. We are in all probability not encouraged to test things according to scripture. It has been my experience on a regular basis that when you say "I don't see that in scripture" or " can you show me where you see that in scripture" the response all too often is " go away we run things around here."

The other problem is that we are to blame for a lack of accountability as we like the world have developed a superstar mentality in the church so it means some people are beyond reproach and our thought seems to be "well, if he says it it must be right" or " you don't get as far as he has if you don't know what you are talking about."

Back in the 70's I was a great fan of Derek Prince and the other four. They all gave us great teaching that was definitely worth hearing. At one stage, they went off the rails and brought in the discipleship movement which the church embraced. Unfortunately, some who embraced it went far beyond what Derek and Co intended and many people were spiritually abused as a result.

Was that Derek and Co's fault? Probably not but they still admitted that there were problems in what they taught so they did not put themselves above the Body of Christ and insist that the church had to sort itself out, not them.

I am still a fan of Derek Prince, buying his books and supporting his ministry to third world countries as I have met him enough times to know there is a very humble heart motivating the man whilst he was alive. His overriding passion was to mature the church and save the lost and he devoted his whole life to that mission and it is still continuing although he no longer lives on this earth.

Like the world, we want our superstars to succeed, so we shower them with accolades which can give that person the impression that they are a cut above the rest and we should wait on their every word.

The fact is, that is not the model Jesus taught. His instruction for leadership aspirants was very simple. Be a servant. Don't sit at the top table, serve and sit at the bottom table when all have been served. Don't demand the best parking lot. Help others to park their cars and then find a space for yourself, that is if there is one.

You might say with Jesus, the way down is the way up. At my last church we had regular tea breaks during the meeting (they lasted up to 6 hours). The leader didn't hob nob with the other leaders. He went round serving drinks and food to the people there.

As the oldest person in the congregation he always came to me first to make sure I had what I wanted.

Christianity is an alternative culture so whatever way the world does it, we usually have to do the opposite.

Do I take it that your non response means that there is no support in scripture for your position?

It is a common tactic when you have no support for what you say, you avoid the question with 'don't bother me with the need to defend myself."

Thanks for confirming that in fact, the scripture does not show that the five ministries of Ephesians 4:11 are no longer needed.

Of course you can prove me wrong if you want to, but I doubt you can.

Thank you for bringing up this topic. I took a bit of time to listen to some of Kat Kerr's interviews on YouTube .... but because I have only watched a part of it so far .... I cannot make an opinion about her yet. ...... I am very very cautious around folks who claim to have gone to heaven .... or have received visions

>>>> I have been to heaven and back myself .... I was there for 30-40 seconds ..... I was not expecting it .... came right out of the blue .... I should also add that I have never sought nor prayed for such an experience.

It was not a dream , it was not an imagination , it was not a vision .... I was actually " there" ..... full color .... crystal clear communications ..... I could see , I could feel , I could hear , and I could speak ..... everything was indescribably perfect ..... and I knew exactly where I was .... no confusion whatsoever. .......... ( although I did not know what the full purpose was until a few hours later)

When I say ..... "I knew where I was" ..... I called it the angelic realm at the time .... I knew I was surrounded by thousands of joyful angels ..... I could not see them ..... but I knew they "were all around me" ...... what I did see was a departed loved one ..... but that is not why I was there ...... I was there to be given specific chapter and verses for a prophetic event taking place on earth during that very time (30-40 second time period)

I have documented the whole thing carefully and scholarly ..... it is factual , documented , provable . and scriptural ..... I am not in the book business but will be doing a first print run soon ..... then it will be made public ..... everything stands up to complete scrutiny ..... no speculation or guesswork required ..... and am I ever glad .... otherwise I would have just kept it to myself and said nothing to anybody.

So I YES ..... can say with certainty that we humans can go "to heaven" and back.

Arnie M

marksman ..... I have read quite a few of your posts and you have a lot of credibility with me .... I would find it interesting to hear more about your trip to heaven.

Thanks
Arnie .

John 3:13 "No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven--the Son of Man." This verse automatically cancels out anyone's experience of "going to heaven" and renders it unscriptural, unbiblical, and untruthful.

Theology trumps Experience every single time. Experience isn't even in the same ballpark as Theology.
