Generally but not universally, secular music is fine. The same goes even with the so-called Christian music. This is part of the Christian freedom.

Is it bad if I listen to secular music with swear words in it?

Yes.

Do you think God would be ok with me making music with horror-like lyrics?

If it glorifies God, then yes, 1 Corinthians 10:

31 Whether you eat therefore or drink, or if you do anything, you shall do everything for the glory of God.
Where do we draw the line?

Let the Holy Spirit guide you by his peace and joy in your conscience.

Philippians 4:8 KJV
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Much love!

As Paul wrote: "All things are lawful to me, but not all things are beneficial". We must discern carefully what builds and what destroys in our lives in the areas that some call teh "grey areas". We have liberty, but that does not mean freedom to do.
