How many failed prophecies has Jack conjured up? Only one would have had him stoned to death in the OT.
You had better have some PROOF all ready to present to God!!! Those that slandered MOSES paid a very high price!!
Jack is not Moses by any stretch of the imagination. One failed prophecy = false prophet. Punishable by death in the OT.
Jack VanImpe - Televangelist who has, over the years, predicted many specific years and dates for the second coming of Jesus, but has continued to move his prediction later. Many of these dates have already passed, and he recently pointed to 2012 as a possible date for the second coming. Van Impe no longer claims to know the exact date of the Second Coming, but quotes verses which imply that mankind should know when the second coming is near
Jack says on many tv programs,"I do not set dates But God says believers are to know by the signs He named when Jesusis at the door ready to return ===and that time is now!!
There was a time -- several decades ago -- when Jack Van Impe was a straight-shooting fundamentalist Christian. I have even personally heard him preach, and the fact that he had memorized large segments of Scripture was commendable.
But it would appear from many reports that he has changed his doctrinal position and has even gone so far as to claim that there is no difference between Roman Catholicism and Bible Christianity. Some say that he has even converted to Catholicism.
As to the return of Christ, evidently he has been making predictions from time to time, and they have failed. So he is a good example of any preacher who focuses on only one aspect of Bible truth rather than covers the whole counsel of God.
For Christians, the primary response to world events and the nearness of the Second Coming should be to redouble their efforts to bring souls to Christ and to edify the saints.

Question: I complained to Jack Van Impe that on TV he appears to embrace Catholicism....He says that when he heard hatred dripping from the lips of those who criticize Catholics, he decided just to preach the truth. What can I do?
He has always been a mixed bag to me but I was surprised to find this.

Proof. Hmmm....proof. What is this proof you speak of? Is it the proof that Jack has when he walks away from his predictions that Christ was going to return in 1976, or 2000 or 2008 or 2012 or this year? If he truly was "God's last prophet" as he declares himself, why does he need to keep changing these dates he announces? Is this this "proof" you speak of? I don't know. I think that if you want anyone here to have even a shred of confidence in this fellow, it is you who needs to present proof to us. Proof that this man holds to biblical truth and carries its weight before his own. To my mind, anyone who announces they are God's last prophet, are too busy taking note of their own press to worry about Gods.

How many times have you heard the Lord would return within 40 years (one generation) of "Israel's" occupation of Palestine in 1948? And when that fell through, 40 years from the 6 day war? and on and on?
Those not blinded by satan and used as his tool are seeing the signs that Jesus told us we would see just before His return to earth to defeat all evil and set up His kingdom so how close must the rapture (catching up of believers) be??
I believe Jesus can return any day now. Along with the resurrection of the dead followed by the rapture, followed by the conflagration of the universe and the emergence of the New Heavens and earth. Antichrist having been realized in the papacy, and the kingdom of God present since Christ first preached it 2000+ years ago.
Jack says Jesus will return in the clouds any day now. Along with the rapture,then the years of the great tribulation and anti-christ rule followed by the return of Jesus (with the raptured believers)to earth to defeat all evil and set up His kingdom
