Jesus’ Resurrection and Ours(?)

Faith in God through Jesus is not like a cherry tree; that is, like picking what you believe to be the best cherries on the tree while ignoring the other cherries, you may jeopardize any chance you have of eternal life. Faith has many facets, but the ones that are accessible to each of us are the ones that require our attention. Our faith may manifest itself in how we maintain our families, but if we were never in military service it is unlikely we may exercise our faith firsthand as soldiers.

Jesus’ resurrection is as much an element of our faith as anything else that is found in the Bible, but his resurrection is the cornerstone holding all of it together. Our faith through Jesus is premised on Jesus being resurrected which helps to confirm that he is a divine being to cement our faith.
To the extent that our faith has our trust instead of our knowledge of its elements, there are underlying mysteries. One mystery is Jesus’ missing body from the tomb, as Peter confirms in Luke 24:12. In the tomb, he saw “the linen cloths by themselves,” but, as he was told by the women who first made the discovery, Jesus’ body was gone. The mystery remains as to where did the body go? In terms of the Bible, the body itself would not have arisen, since as it says in 1 Corinthians 15:50 that “flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God.”

Is it possible that, in terms of our faith, Jesus never had a body of flesh and blood to begin with? That those linens that Peter found in the tomb were on what appeared to be a physical form of Jesus which people interacted with when he was living on earth?

How may a true believer through faith rationalize the unsolved mysteries concerning Jesus’ resurrection? One explanation may be that the body was
moved by unknown people after Jesus made his Ascendence.

There is sort of a similarity between Jesus’ missing body and that of Moses’. It is believed that no one knows where Moses’ body was buried, though contrary to people knowing where Jesus’ body was buried. It is said that people were not meant to know where Moses’ body is, for fear he would be worshipped. But two Passages in the Old Testament suggest that it would have been impossible for the Hebrews to find out where it was buried. One, Deuteronomy 34:6 says he was buried “in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth-peor..” Moab is not part of Israel. Why does that matter? Because God says to Moses in ‘Do not harass Moab or contend with them in battle, for I will not give you any of their land for a possession, because I have given Ar to the people of Lot for a possession.’ Well, that puts Moab off-limits to the Hebrews as far as finding out where Moses’ body is.

As for our faith in God through Jesus, it’s established no matter where the body that Jesus occupied is.
