Lol, that picture kills me! ROTF that's no Jesus. Why does everyone think he looks like that? What an image. And why is he usually white? That guy in the photo is a good looking and handsome man, I guarantee it (I am a male for the record but I can tell). He may need a haircut or at least a good shave, but that guy looks pretty suave if you ask me and I bet other women would agree. This is not Abercrombie and Fitch, Christ was not sent with appeal. Human nature is so funny, He is made as we would want to see Him, and this is also why many did not believe at his coming. He just didn't fit their preconceived notions of a Saviour; ridding in on somebody else's borrowed donkey, looking homely and claiming to be the son of God.ISAIAH, Chapter 53;2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant. And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form of comeliness; And when we see Him there is no beauty that we should desire Him.3 He is despised and rejected by men. A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.I've always thought if Jesus were to come today as for the first time, he'd probably have His disciples round him up a beater junk car to go preach the Kingdom of God to the world. People would scoff and call him a redneck or hillbilly.I don't mean to completely sidestep the original post. I apologize, it's just that seeing that triggered something deep down inside me and I had to respond to it. I guess it just shows on some levels how set perceptions can be dangerous. Yes, what fit do we have to partake in His glory if we will not proclaim His name to others or are worse ashamed of it? But if we do proclaim that name and preach Jesus then He intercedes for us in ways that we cannot to the Father and we are known to Him. We are accepted in Him through Christ.

Jesus in a car? Never! I doubt if he'd want to foul up the atmosphere and kill asthmatic kids.. (I don't drive myself because i'd feel guilty)He'd use an old beat-up communal bus or something, nothing wrong with vehicle-sharing..As for what he looked like, that picture is as good as any, I mean he wasn't a Chinaman or a black man was he?And I agree looks count for zilch, for example Jesus's young cousin John looked like a hippy dressed in near-rags, living a world-rejecting life in the wilderness, living off the land and occasionally going in town to yell insults at the snooty priests and corrupt rulers. Jesus's verdict on him? -"John is the greatest man ever to be born" (Matthew 11:11)

To continue on the 'ordinary' theme, Jesus wasn't much to look at -"He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him" (Isaiah 53:2) And Paul was nothing to write home about - "For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful, but his appearance is unimpressive, and he speaks poorly" (2 Cor 10:10) And Moses admitted to being unable to think on his feet- "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, i'm slow of speech and tongue." (Exodus 4:10) And Jonah was so scared he refused pointblank to be a prophet and jumped on a ship to escape, bad call - "Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish." (Jonah 1:3) And young Jeremiah tried to talk his way out of the job - "Lord i'm no good at speaking, i'm too young and people won't take me seriously" (Jer 1:6) The moral? - many Biblical people were as ordinary as you and me..
