Those Christians who say they are no more condemned for sinning, also now say they are judged and chastised, when they do sin.

The proposition therefore, is that the judgement of God against sinning, can be without condemnation for sinning.

Like faith alone without works, there is judgment alone without condemnation.

But what does Scripture say?

And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

The judgement of God against sinning is the condemnation. To escape condemnation, is to escape judgment.

Therefore, there can be no judgment against sinning, without being condemned for doing it.

This Scripture is written specifically to people, that think they are not condemned when doing what the world does, because they are the 'people of God'.

What these Christians are trying to say, is that as a Christian we can still be judged as sinning, when we sin, just not condemned for it.

I.e. God only now judges rightly and agrees we have sinned, but his judgment no more brings condemnation with it.

But, if the judgment has no condemnation, then what is judgment for? If we're not condemned by God, then what is there to judge?

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

These Christians are saying, that they have no condemnation with the world, even when their deeds are still evil.

They are saying, that they are still loving the light, while walking in darkness, and so there is no condemnation for it.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

So when they do evil like the world, they don't really hate the light like the world.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Yet, Scripture says only them doing good are coming to the light and walking therein.

By separating God's condemnation for sinning, from His judgment against sinning, these Christians are saying that coming to the Light is by faith alone, and not by doing the truth.

Oh yes. The power of one's own faith alone, can move mountains of Scripture from one place to another, so that they make no sense anymore.

So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.
