The justification and perfection we now have through Jesus Christ, is not by our works we do, but only by the works we do through and with Jesus Christ.

It may seem like splitting hairs in a distinction without a difference, but I believe this is where much Christian controversy arises, that is due to the simple use and misuse of words taught in the Bible.

What the good news of Jesus Christ is all about, is how Christ living within us can indeed produce works worthy and justified by God. That is all important and necessary for any man, because the works we do are what He judges as justified or condemned by Him.

Faith alone is not the purpose of Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, but the purpose is that only through His Spirit, can any man indeed do works judged worthy of God and resurrection unto life.

It is the justification and perfection of the works we do by Jesus Christ, that is rewarded with the inheritance of resurrection from the dead in His likeness.

Man's works neither save nor justify the man, nor can our works ever be judged as perfect by God. But it is the works of the man Jesus Christ, that He does by His Spirit in and through us, as the members of His own body. These are the works that God judges as being good, justified, and perfect, because He sees the works we no do, as no longer being of our own righteous will, but are now being done by His own dear Son Himself.

These are the only works man can do through Christ, that can justify a man with God.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

The error is of speaking of being justified by our works, rather than being justified by the works of Christ within us, the hope of glory.

James 2 never says anything about 'our' works justifying us, but justification with God is only by the works of doing good and obeying the His word of faith through Christ living within and through us.

And so, it's Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;, but by the Holy Ghost dwelling within us, that is the divine work of justification and perfection of works we do, as members of His own body.

Not by our works we do are we ever justified with God, but He is the justifier of the works we now do through the faith of His Son Jesus Christ.

Any Christians saying their works do not justify them with God, is speaking the truth of the Bible.

But any believer saying none of the works they do justify them with God, are confessing o works they do are by and through Jesus Christ and pleasing to the Father.

They confess to still doing their own works of before, that are all still filthy rags of their own will, whether doing any good or not.

Now we can clearly see how it is our works, that Paul preaches against, even as he plainly teaches in Titus 3. He is not at all speaking of the justified and worthy works of Christ within and through us. That is why Paul never speaks of having faith alone without any works at all, nor does James ever speak of any of our works justifying us with God.

Paul rightly says that Abraham was not justified by his works. And James rightly says that only by works of Jesus' faith are we justified with God.

And so, it is not of our works, that we can boast, because our works do not justify us with God. And any works we do only through the Father's will, has no boast, because the only reason we do them is by His will and word of faith.

Abraham was not doing his own works of his own will, when offering up Isaac, but was only doing the work according to God's word of faith given him. This is why God justified the work Abraham now did, because it was now God and Abraham together doing the work by faith from the heart.

That is how Abraham and Rahab are examples of being justified with God by works, because they only did them through the faith of God. They did not hazard the life of a son and her own life by their own will, but they only did so by the will of the God of Israel speaking to their hearts.

And that is the promise of the gospel unto justification of works we now do, that we now can do works with God together, even as Abraham on the mount. But not only with God can we do the work of faith, but also with God in us and through us by the Spirit of His own dear Son.

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

While Jesus was with the disciples, so was the Spirit, but with His resurrection from the dead, God can now be within us to do all works together.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

This is not a boast of Paul about how he can do some great and mighty things at times. This is the confidence of faith in Jesus, that through Christ we can now do any and all works together with God, whether small or great. These are the works that justify a believer with the Father, because they are now all judged worthy of being done by the Son Himself.

Paul is simply declaring that we too by Christ in us and through us, can do what the Son did and always please the Father.

And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Romans 4:1-8 KJV
1) What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
2) For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
3) For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
4) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
6) Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
7) Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8) Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Please read this passage many times through, becoming extremely familiar with every word in it.

Much love!

We do need to obey the Lord - to me, that is "works."

Since you have nothing to say about the teaching, it remains uncorrected.

The works Paul preaches against are our works of our own righteousness. The works James teaches for are the works of His righteousness we now do by His faith.

Our works never justify any man with God, but only the works that God judges to be done by His Son through His sons.

Please read this passage many times through, becoming extremely familiar with every word in it.

Already have. And I'm well acquainted with your own interpretation of it. It's not the Bible. The difference between your interpretation and mine, is that you interpret by unbelief in some words of the Bible. I interpret by believing all words of the Bible.

James 2 says plainly that any faith without any works at all is dead and cannot save any man. Paul says that includes our own works by our own faith alone.

And the only works that justify us are those done through the faith of Jesus, so that the Father judges them as being done by us and the son together. Even as the God of Israel did with Abraham and Rahab.

Since you have nothing to say about the teaching,
Why do you keep posting this to me? I've refuted you many times. You say not. The posts themselves show which is true, and that you are fully dishonest in this.

You post about your works making you righteous but you have shown yourself a liar.

And you are trolling me with your lies.

All will be revealed.

You will be ignored after this.

Much love!

No passage in the Bible will contradict any other. Either you believe the words you read or you do not. Plain and simple. Just like the meaning of this passage above. Plain and simple. You believe it or you don't.

Justification comes in two forms, works and faith. The bible covers both. It is important that it comes in two forms, since some have no works like the elderly and disabled. They are justified thru faith. Works justification is done thru works meet for repentance and is important for the normal person.

True. That's because Bible faith that saves and justifies man is works. The faith of Jesus is both substance and evidence.

Only foolish men can think that believing something alone is worth something. We're made int he image of God, and so we can think and imagine, but that alone is nothing as in James 2. And if people think their believing will somehow override what we do in life, then that's the most foolish of all.

God judges us by our works, not just our imaginations and foolish beliefs about ourselves and what we determine by our own faith what our eternal future will be. This is the hubris of some Christians, because they certainly aren't going by the Bible for it.

It is important that it comes in two forms, since some have no works like the elderly and disabled.
I don't read anything about the disabled being exempt from works. The problem here is natural thinking applied to the Bible and to works. The natural mind thinks works are only things done that we can see. With God man's works begin with our spirit first. That's why Jesus comes to have us clean out our insides as well as outward lives.

Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

He calls these our first works when rebuking the Ephesian church in Rev 2. Our first works are where our first love and treasure of heart is made known to God and ourselves.

This is why lusting for the world is first judged as an act of sin by God, before ever committing it with the flesh.

And even in the natural world, unless someone's blind, they can always flip on the porn. And even if blind but not deaf, there's plenty of filth to listen to and satisfy their lust for the world.

The salvation and justification of Christ is to purify the soul first and also the life, and this excludes no one alive on earth. Some are filthy in their spirit and mind, while outwardly righteous, as with the Pharisee types above. All that are outwardly filthy are both. There is no such thing as outwardly filthy and inwardly pure, since that's not possible. That's where the sinful Christians try to separate their sinful deeds from their inward faith and heart.

In modern liberal lingo, it's the idea of doing bad things, but still have a good heart. Both cases are self-righteousness.

There are many references in scriptures pertaining to God's expectations for us to do good works for Him.

Here is another example;

Ephesians 4;11-13.....for works.......required as part of righteousness.

Thank you. This is helpful for another discussion I was having on Discord.
Your welcome. A simple solution to discord is to preach repenting of sinning first, and believe Jesus to be newborn of Him and walk with Him.

All the other stuff is just arguing about that one simple truth:

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Without repenting of sinning first, then all we do remains our works of our own righteousness. Our conversion is unclean and to Christian religion only. With repenting of sinning first and being born anew to walk with Jesus, all the works we do instantly become His works in and through us. Our conversion is whole and complete in heart, spirit, and life.

The hidden secret that we ourselves know with an honest heart, is that so long as we are still sinning with the heart, then all our good works are as filthy rags and unjustified with God. Only through the purifying and sanctification of the Spirit within first, can the works we do be not I, but Christ that liveth in me.

This blessedness of the gospel of Jesus Christ only comes by repenting of lusting and sinning first, and then believe and obey Jesus only.
