Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Being justified by good works, says we are not justified in doing an evil work of the flesh.

All Christians preach the faith that saves produces good works, so that not producing those good works proves no faith nor salvation. Why then do some Christians so rail against being justified by good works of faith?

Afterall, they also preach those good works are necessary produce that proves salvation anyway.

And so, since they must be doing works anyway, why not also be justified by them?

The reason, therefore, that they hate James 2:24 so much, is not because of the need of good works, but really because that Scripture means no Christian is justified by Christ, while doing an evil work of the flesh, because no man is counted as doing any good at all while sinning with the devil.

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

The Scriptural truth is, that all our good works of the past, while sinning with the devil, count for nothing with Jesus Christ: it is as we have never produced any good works at all.

The Scripture does not just confirm that good works are the necessary product of being saved, but that if we are doing evil, then we are not doing anything good, nor have we in the past, and so are not justified by Christ with good works: Christians can fail and fall, but no man is justified by Christ, while groveling in the dirt at the feet of the devil. And while doing so there is nothing any good about us, than any other souls serving the devil.

All Christians agree that salvation must produce good works, but only righteous Christians with sound judgement acknowledge that there are no good works, nor righteousness, nor justification accounted to any man while doing an unrighteous work of the flesh.

Those who reject James 2:24, are trying to believe that their past righteousness and good works prove are still acknowledged by God as proof of His salvation.

By rejecting James 2:24, they must also reject Ezekiel 18:24.

And to do that, they must also reject Ezekiel 18:22, which is the whole foundation for righteousness by faith and being forgiven of all past sinning by the blood of the Lamb:

But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

If we are justified by good works of faith, then we are not justified without doing good, even as producing no good works of faith proves we are not saved by faith.

And, no man is doing anything good in sight of God, while doing something evil against Him, and so there are no good works in sight of Christ, while sinning against Christ.

Thus, James 2:24 teaches that if the good works cease, then we are not justified by Christ, because past righteousness is no more remembered: while sinning in a work of the flesh, past good works are forgotten by God, and has no good works shown produced by faith.

All the past good works of the one sinning and trespassing against Christ, are thus forgotten by God, and so now being without any good works of faith, is not justified by Christ.

And there are no good works being done, while doing an evil one.

Tithing and philanthropy by crooks and criminals is not doing good in sight of God. Preaching the gospel while in adultery is not counted as righteousness with reward by Jesus Christ.

Charitable giving by a drunkard is counted as filthy rags to Jesus Christ. The giving is good in itself, but the drunkard is not counted as righteous nor is justified as doing good.

Sometimes there is more fun in doing bad works, but it usually leads to regret. We all struggle with it though Rom 7:18-8:1

'We' again. When will people grow up and learn to speak for themselves, and stop trying to think that if everybody's doing it, they will be ok. The flood proves that wrong.

You are correct, I was speaking for myself, but I would imagine it would be the same for everyone, but especially for those with a Christian trained conscience sir. Of course the more you practice bad, the more "normal" it becomes, and few likely regret the bad things they do, but likely a few do. Some people are almost forced into being bad by circumstances. I can see how that could apply to many, especially in large cities.
