Hurricanes have been hitting North America for thousands of years. There were many devastating storms before any extra miniscule increases in CO2.

Ever been to Sanibel Island in FLA? I have been several times. very nice place for a family vacation. Well, the storm Surge there is going to be at least 10 FEET! The wind will tear it up and blow sea water on land.
That island is pretty low and flat everywhere. Most of the island is going underwater, almost everyone's homes will be flooded. And there is a trailer park on the Island surprise, not everyone who lives there is wealthy. The region is going to be pummeled and destroyed. We rented a very nice 3 story home on a canal and an Ocean view last time we were there.

The beaches of Sarasota is the place to be when a major storm comes through. There is a ship wreck, they can't find, sitting off shore. Each major storm washes pieces of eight tothe beaches ....The old guys and metal detectors flood the beaches in search of gold.

When my grandparents lived there, we would go to Bradenton beach a lot. And Sarasota. Now that was a long time ago! Like back in the late 60's.
I can remember the sands were alive with little, tiny sea shells, all differently brightly colored. They lived in Sun City Center.

My parents now live in Myrtle Beach. We live close to the outer banks of NC, actually very close to Yorktowne VA, and can easily make it a day trip, about a 2 hour drive. Our whole family seems to gravitate towards beaches and coastlines

I lived in Largo for 35 years ....Clearwater area ...I've prowled all the beaches from Brooksville to Naples ...

I had a construction crew that worked on projects around the Bay area. They adopted my daughter as our mascot ...Eight years old ..always wanted to be with the guys. We taught her to fish from the bridges. It was funny, we had to bait her first hook. When the live shrimp was taken, she went back to the bucket and found a dead floating shrimp on top. Baited her own hook and always ...always caught more fish than the rest of us. We took her deep sea fishing. She caught a small shark ...Had to tell her "Michelle, let us handle that, he bites for keeps."
We would take her golfing with us. She drove my cart ...I think it was a great way for her to gow up for a while.

Agree, without any numbers or names ballots ought to be invalid. At least those issuing ballots should all have sequential control numbers on them to verify authenticity. Easy to just print ballots on demand for fraud. Efforts to do that, the democrats will call voter suppression. What it means is it suppresses votes for democrats, not the people who vote. It would be more empowering for actual voters to not dilute the results with counterfeits, but we can't allow that, there is too much at stake for the democratic party.

Right now ...The Weather guys are having a ball .....the only time they are significant and they milk this for all they are worth. First, the winds are not constant. Each band that passes through presents another set of problems. Winds to 100 gusts and torrents of rain. Inland is not a dire situation. It's the coast that will go under water immeidately. That's not miles and miles of water ....it's regions ...What makes this a challege for these guys ...Ian is hitting front that is over Alabama and Georgia....for example It's 55 this morning in Birmingham ...Hurricanes don't like cold ..they need hot ...Charlie followed the same path and was a Cat 5 hurricane headed for the mouth of Tampa Bay. Charlie tok a unexpected hard right turn and nailed Punta Gorda. Elana took the same path, then danced off the coast of Tampa for two days. I was supposed to go to Key West that weekend with my Dad. I chose to stay, thinking that Key West would be a mess. I baby sat birds at my Dad's house while they sat on the beach drinking and having a great time.

Right now predicting south of Sarasota for the eye of the storm.

When they give evacuation orders ...Mobile homes first. Barrier Islands second. Then the low lying coastlines ...Imagine two million people with a quarter to a third suddenly in evacuation mode. Evacuations are structured to be waves ....instead, they are constant traffic jam to get out. By the end of today .....every bridge, every major roadway, every escape route out of Pinellas County (St Pete, Clearwater) will be shut down ....The weirdest feeling is being trapped with no where to run. We chose to run during one hurricane, violated my vow ...."Tennessee being a good pace to stop." We went to Orlando, hurricane turned inland and we got run over by the hurricane as it passed over Orlando. I vowed never agan ....we go to Tennessee ....

The day before the front of the storm hits is beautiful .....skies bright clear blue, no wind ...perfection ...then hell comes to dinner.....

I've been in the eye of three hurricanes. Get beat for hours then stop, bright blue clear skies ....stand outside and look all around you, you can see the wall of the circle. Weird, knowing that in an hour, back inside and get beaten again ...

My wife watches these, I always tell her...it means nothing until the two days of approach ....

Sanibel Island has water standing everywhere right now. What most people don't realize is that within a day or two all that will be left is sand. I've gone to St Pete immediately after a storm to find water one to two feet deep. Go a day later and there is nothig but sand.
