For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. - 1 Corinthians 2:2.

What is the determination of 'Christ crucfied' that Paul was determined only to know? You finding out who you are in life, and in expression. You learn what a Christian (Christ person, Christ-ian, someone with Christ in them) is by the death, burial, and resurrection. The death of Jesus Christ has made the believer complete in him. The burial of Jesus Christ has made the believer complete in him. The resurrection has made the believer complete in him. The ascension has made the believer complete in him - and seated in heavenly places!

10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: - Colossians 2:10.

You ever notice Paul never speaks about the end times. He doesn't quote much from Old Testament. He doesn't even talk about all the miracles that were performed through him, or the miracles that were performed by Jesus of Nazareth (Paul refers to Jesus when he walked on this earth as; Jesus of Nazareth). Other than the death- burial-and resurrection. He handled that by saying 'I'm determined to know nothing but Christ crucified.'

This is for growing, on going believers to see their completion in Christ by the cross in spirit. Those that have come to an end of self and have determined to know nothing else but Christ, and him crucified. You can know a lot of things from scripture, it is full of good history and stories, and end time events. Powerful events that even hollywood can not even duplicate.

But it also holds in it's page's the knowledge you need for this life as a Christian. Knowing who the anti-christ is, and where he is coming from will have nothing to do with your understanding "Christ crucified." Can you understand scripture is trying to reveal to you the greatest information the world has ever known. It is written in a book and ready to be revealed to those that hunger and thirst after it.

Believer's cannot live something they do not know. Your life will be determined by your understanding - you will live what you know.

You will come to a time in your life when you will have to say "is it Christ or is it me." Who is doing the living. If it is Christ doing the living because he is the life - them how does he live. How does he live in and through me. I cannot tell you how to make that work, that is something you will have to see and come to understand on your own by the Spirit.

But I do know that every honest student of the word of God - will come to that time when you will determine 'to know nothing but Christ and him crucified,' and have to say "is it Christ or is it me that is alive and doing the living."

I would say Paul quotes the Old Testament a lot. More than what you think.

Also I agree about the Christ in you or Messiah in you. But what does that mean? What is one angle of that statement?

NKJ John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

NKJ John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Messiah in you can also be the Word in you. The word from the beginning. The word was manifested in the flesh in the person of Yeshua. Just another angle of what it may mean to have Messiah in you, is to also have His word in you.

Shalom
