"Eerdman’s Dictionary of the Bible

[7, page 1373] states “… archeology

and literature suggests an average

length for the common cubit of

44.5 cm (17.5 in.).” This citation

also gives a range of 42–48 cm

(17–19 in) for the cubit. Range is

an important parameter because it

indicates the variation operating

on this measure. Variation

indicates multiple influences."
