What is it about grace that some people struggle with as far as accepting it fully. What grace does with an individual is; it tears up the doctrine most of the time. It did Paul, when he named off all the things that made him who he was - Hebrew of Hebrews, of the tribe of Benjamin, circumcised the eighth day. Those were the things that had made Paul who he was all of his life until he became born again and learned grace. Paul was a very educated man, sat under Gamaliel who was a teacher of traditions.

3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. - Acts 22:3.

Grace took away Paul's old identity and replaced it with his proper identity (spirit). Living from a new identity is not a easy process (soul) because we spend our whole life living from one identity and then we have to start learning a new identity. You do understand what they say about old dogs "they are hard to teach new tricks." Point there is they are set in there ways. Well if you watch your mind it is the same way always having to learn a new trick so to say. You do not have to be old to be taught new tricks the mind grabs hold of it's identity at a young age.

Paul had to be willing to dump everything in his old identity order to come into grace. A crude word but we are the same way, we have to be willing to dump everything that makes you a you to follow Jesus.

I don't think God wants a whole bunch of corn. I think we are all unique and have to figure out our new identities in Christ. That way we get corn with mashed potatoes and gravy, maybe some meat, peas, etc. God loves diversity, he created Asians, Africans, Europeans, etc. I think Paul was different than the other disciples, and you can see that in writings of his beliefs compared to the other gospel witnesses.

@soul man I think I've mentioned before:

All of grace...

"All of grace, yes, grace surpassing,
Such a portion to bestow,
But the love, all knowledge passing,
Grace has taught us now to know.

Love that bore the stripes and sorrow,
Love that suffered on the Tree,
Love that shares the bright tomorrow,
With the loved ones, you and me."

If so it always bear's repeating, very nice.
