This morning in prayer the Lord brought my attention to words spoken in different areas of different churches. The words being the same or similar: "Lord, hear our prayers".
And what that means has been explained to me in depth by our Lord thru his holy spirit.
Jesus the Christ is the receiver of our prayers. He hears them and if appropriate presents them to the Father, Almighty God. If they are not appropriate he does not. And that is love for us if we understand that.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
In the fall of Adam and Eve we became separated from God, the garden of Eden, a paradise and became in need of a Savior to raise us up both spiritually and physically. We had become fallen thru sin.
Habakkuk 1:13
You are of purer eyes than to behold evil,
And cannot look on wickedness.
Why do You look on those who deal treacherously,
And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours
A person more righteous than he?
Exodus 33:17 So the Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”
18 And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”
19 Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” 20 But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.” 21 And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. 22 So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. 23 Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.”
The Lord reveals what scriptures mean sometimes as they can be confusing.
One of the important aspects of God hearing our prayers is that we do not deny Christ to ourselves or before mankind. That means we keep our hearts truthful as possible and when need arises in our hearts from the Lord we do as he asks, which is doing what is morally good.
We can ask God thru prayer to change us, including our hearts to desire to do God's will.
Also it is good to not be ashamed of God. And sometimes and when appropriate to invite God into our discussions with others by spoken word and also example of behavior. And that is called confessing God before mankind. An example might be that when we are around our friends we may refrain from certain ungodly activity or speech. Explaining why might be appropriate and invite God into the discussion. Our friends may remember that someday, and they may find it important at that time. Thru example we can also confess God to mankind.
Luke 9:26 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.
Matthew 10:32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
But do not think that God has not compassion to come after us to save us even as the parable of the lost sheep tells.
Do not consider that God is incapable of saving a lost soul. We are humans and incapable of understanding the infinite intelligence, wisdom and almighty powers of God. He is God and also gave His only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ, our Lord because of his 'beyond' mankind amount of love for us. The amount of his love is evident in the slow to anger and patience in long suffering he has shown. To them that go beyond the point of angering him like after the 400 years of Israel's captivity in Egypt, them we can pray for. Also the Romans and Jews that betrayed him when he was crucified.

And it has been made clear from God the Father, do not think he cannot communicate with us directly. His word is creation, destruction and salvation. He makes quick work of matters he commands. When he speaks it is with power unto glory that the universe is created and commandments fullfilled, and the dead raised to life and risen to the heavenly state, his son was given command for that purpose and succeeded in the redemption of his peolple for them that desire salvation, which pleased the Father, almighty God.

Bible Gateway passage: Luke 15 - New King James Version
The Parable of the Lost Sheep - Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” So He spoke this parable to them, saying: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he...
