The only way a believer can manifest the Christ that is in them is by what they know about him. The mind will be at war with your spirit to manifest Christ. What is meant by that? It is the old way of thinking now for the believer, with the old man dead now it is the mind not spirit you will continually deal with! the residue of the old sin nature! basically just a memory!
The spirit has been joined to the Lord and is one spirit. If you think in terms such as; God is going to get you everytime you get out of line you are not manifeating Christ. You are still manifesting fear, you still have a God to people relationship in mind like Israel had, "I'll be their God and they shall be my people," Hebrews 8:12,
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
When the fact is you have a face to face, nature to nature, spirit to spirit, father to son relationship by the birthing, as far as your father see's anyway. You will be treated no different than Jesus was when he walked this earth, you have been birthed by God the father by placing his seed Christ in you the hope of glory. Jesus is our pattern for the father to son relationship, Hebrews 1:5,
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
So the Old Testament mentally that plagues you will keep you from manifesting Christ. When you were born again you received in the seed the whole Christ. You didn't recieve just part of Christ and more comes later, you received the complete Christ in you the moment you believed. What happens in Christianity is we grow in soul/mind to manifest more of the complete Christ that is in you. If you have been in Christ for any amount of time you can look back and see where your growth has been. You look like a different person, your understanding has had many levels, or it may be the sin that bothered you and caused you trouble you have conquered it now. How does that work? By your growth you manifest Christ in that area now, it is nolonger a problem and you move on to something else.
Mind renewal we be an ongoing process until the day you take your last breathe. So basically what will keep an individual from understanding Christ as life is the cares of this world, religion, the mind, and any distraction you can think of to keep you just plugging along acting out a nice Christian life. That is why money and prestige and this worldly efforts have nothing to do with you manifesting Christ. "Well brother if I had more money I could do more for God."
He does not need your money, he needs you renewed in mind. We have all these plans to no avail. "Many are the plans of a mans heart but the Lord's purpose shall prevail."
