Two things that Christ and his Father value very highly are integrity and
loyalty.

2Tim 2:4 . . As Christ's soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the
affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you
in his army.

1Tim 4:14 . . Focus upon the public reading of scripture, and to preaching
and teaching.

MLK Jr was an ordained Christian minister. Had he remained faithful to his
calling as per the two passages above, instead of abandoning his post for
political activism, he might still be alive today.

2Tim 4:1-5 . . In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge
the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give
you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season;
correct, rebuke and encourage-- with great patience and careful instruction.

. . . For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great
number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will
turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

. . . But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work
of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

While the world admires MLK Jr as a civil rights icon, Christ disdains him a
subordinate who shamefully neglected the duties of his ministry as per the
apostle Paul's charge. Consequently, King's works in this world will go up in
smoke as wood, hay, and stubble as per 1Cor 3:9-15.

MLK Jr wasn't just another John Q and/or Jane Doe pew warmer. He was an
ordained Christian minister whose rules of conduct, and whose duties and
responsibilities, are spelled out in what are commonly known as the pastoral
epistles; i.e. Titus, 1Timothy, and 2Timothy.

If perchance there are young persons reading this considering studying for
"the ministry" be forewarned that in order to serve Christ in accord with his
apostles; you'll have to accept a status as Christ's subordinate; i.e. you
cannot be his minister as a free agent. Should you choose to go off on your
own agenda like King did, you'll be charged with dereliction of duty and
branded a deserter. Though you manage to win world-wide fame and
accolades; in heaven you'll be a disgrace.

Ordained Christian ministers are first and foremost shepherds whose
responsibility is the care of Christ's sheep-- not the world's sheep. In other
words: it is Christ's wishes that his ministers be congregational leaders
rather than social leaders.

2Tim 2:4 . . As Christ's soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the
affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you
in his army.

1Pet 5:1-4 . .To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a
witness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be
revealed:

. . . Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as
overseers-- not because you must, but because you are willing, as God
wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it
over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the
Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never
fade away.

the crown of glory

People are easily fooled into believing that King was a successful minister
because they're inadequately catechized; i.e. they're unaware that the
epistles contain specific instructions for ordained Christian ministers; and
failure to follow those instructions leads to unsatisfactory performance
ratings.

2Tim 2:5 . . If anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the
victor's crown unless he competes according to the rules.

King threw out the rules and went off into political activism and civil
disobedience; which is clearly forbidden for ordained Christian ministers.

2Tim 2:4 . . As Christ's soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the
affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you
in his army.

The apostle Paul spoke for Christ.

1Cor 14:37 . . If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let
him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the
commandments of The Lord.

1Thess 4:1-2 . .We beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by The Lord
Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please
God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments
we gave you by The Lord Jesus.

Therefore ordained Christian ministers that fail to comply with the apostle
Paul's instructions, are failing to comply with Christ's. It's a domino effect all
the way to the top.

Luke 10:16 . .Whoever listens to you; listens to me. Whoever rejects you;
rejects me. And whoever rejects me; rejects the one who sent me.

Mic_6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

of which MLK did, there are plenty of preachers in churches. he sot justice for those denied justice.

funny thing you find that an abomination worthy of your condemnation:

Pro_29:27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

When white evangelicals get involved with politics everyone, especially the blacks and minorities, start screaming 'separation of church and state'. 'Take away the tax exemption'.

But when blacks or minorities get involved, oh it is a great a precious thing they do...Making sure all are treated fair...Just great christians...marching for their rights. What a backward world.

were the whites denied the right to vote in the 50's and 60's

every one knows that if you don't have the right to vote, then congress and the like will see no political expediency to respect your life. that's the way it works in the US of A. its politically expedient to appease the wishes of organized voters. white women did the same marches back when they sot right to vote, they were citizens. unions used to march and organize and they had political juice with congress until Regan started the ball rolling the other way. and wages for workers hasn't kept up with the economy since the 80's.

so MLK's organizing and showing solidarity to get what a US citizen has the right to is the way the whites did it, why is it wrong when the coloreds (NAACP uses the word colored) do the same?

look at the illegals they have no representation because they don't have the right to vote because they are not citizens so they can be employed in substandard condition with substandard pay and basically enslaved by threats of being deported. which works great for the employer, and if you noticed the same politicians have been avoiding doing anything about citizenship for illegals and giving it lip service since the 90's. the illegals have been lead to believe they have earned the right to be here, but no citizenship no rights, except for due process of law.

You missed the point entirely. The point being, when Christian blacks and minorities start marching for their rights, or under the authority of a black church, no one screams for separation of church and state. But when white evangelicals preach from the pulpit a political subject, or if they march in the streets, then everyone screams separation of church and state, most especially blacks and minorities. Then everyone wants those evangelicals exemption declined.

Do you see the hypocrisy? It is just one of many.

no note at all. what up there stranger you want to be a victim too? is some one stepping on your constitutional rights?

you really are out of touch there stranger, there is a tax exemption instituted by LBJ to stop politics being preached at the pulpit, (a gov response to MLK's use of the pulpit) but the old tax exemption was still on the books for churches though as a friend of my experienced was a real resting match with gov to apply for, though it was legal. the greed of white or colored churches choose to go with the new tax exemption status shooting themselves in the foot because the condition of the new tax filing made it illegal to preach comment or recommend any political subject or politician. which has nothing to do with church and state. it was a choice of the churches to gain more from the new tax law. if you were paying any attention you would know that Trump rescinded that very tax law that LBJ instituted back in the 60's.

get with the program stranger if you are going to talk maybe you should do some homework first. also if a church is still filed in resent past under LBJ's tax law then if they do preach politics then they can be in trouble with the Gov. and the screaming would be justified.

Pay attention. As I said, the point is that when blacks or minorities march as Christians wanting their rights as 'blacks', then everyone is just all in praise for their courage and standing up for their rights. But, when whites preach from the pulpit concerning a political subject, or if they are seen getting involved in politics, then my how they squashed the cats tail. You never heard such squalling about separation of church and state.

All Martin Luther King did was use religion to further his black race and to destroy another race. And that is what the black religious people still do today.

So, get with the program, and try and keep up.

Civil disobedience, except as per Ex 1:8-21, is out of the question for ordained
Christian ministers.

Ex 23:2 . . Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong.

Rom 3:8 . . Let us do evil that good may result? Their condemnation is
deserved.

Rom 12:21 . . Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Rom 13:1-2 . . Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities,
for there is no authority except that which God has established. The
authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who
rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and
those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.

1Pet 2:13-15 . . Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority
instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, or to
governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to
commend those who do right. For it is God's will that by doing good you
should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.

In matters related to law and order, ordained Christian ministers are
supposed to be exemplary.

1Tim 4:12 . . Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in
faith and in purity.

In addition; an ordained Christian minister's preaching is not for the benefit
of the world, rather, for the benefit of a congregation; and it better not be
political preaching.

Eph 4:11-12 . . He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and
some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of
the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ

1Tim 4:13 . . Focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging
the believers, and teaching them.

The world likes to think of King as a pastor, but he wasn't a pastor; no, not
even a little; not for Christ anyway: King was first and foremost a renegade
Christian minister gone over to the dark side.

NOTE: The Bible speaks of a darkness about which the world is unaware due
to its inadequate knowledge of Christianity.
