Do you like praising the Lord? Do you play an instrument? Are you a song-writer? If you are interested in sharing your gift, this is a good place to do it.
Everybody has to start somewhere. Preparing for a public presentation of what you have is where you start growing.
I'll start off by playing a song the Lord inspired me to write. Above all, have fun, even when you are serious.

Actually Ron, you might be interested to know we have an instrumental writer at the forum. Episkopos has posted some of his music on various threads before. This I think was the latest one (see Posts #12 and #13):

Once I'm able to. In the meantime, one day as I sat playing my guitar, it all of a sudden seemed like there was a ball of pressure in me that wanted out. This is what it was...

I JUST WANT YOU

I've got a tear in my eye, I've got a thorn in my side,
I've got an attitude that keeps on dragging me down.
I've got unseen pain that fills my heart with rain,
You know it keeps me here on my knees with my face to the ground.

(chorus)

I just want You, Lord, I just want You.
Who am I supposed to be and what am I supposed to do.
I just want You, You know I just want You.
Tell me how to hear Your voice, show me how to see Your face,
Teach me how to walk in Your ways, I just want You.

I've got memories of how it used to be.
You know, the things that I trusted in nearly ended my days.
And how You spoke to me that if I'd only believe,
You would heal this broken heart and lead me in grace.

Lord, I don't understand the working of Your hand,
But I know that the promises that You made to me are true.
So I'll keep seeking Your face for the rest of my days,
"Til my race is run and my time on this world is through. - Truman Coates

Lord I can’t live a day without you;
I’m so glad that you chose me.
I am nothing without you Lord;
You broke my ties and set me free.

You’ve set me free of all restrictions,
That are imagined or are real;
You taught my thirsty soul to love, Lord;
And my hardened heart to feel.

You gave my life a sense of purpose;
Opened paths before my feet;
You quenched my thirst with living water;
Gave me the bread of life to eat.

I know that you are always with me;
A loving Father, close at hand.
You’ve made me be a fruitful tree Lord;
I am not just a grain of sand.

You’ve turned me on the potter’s wheel, Lord;
So I’m not just a lump of clay;
But something beautiful and useful;
Use me now Lord, this I pray.

@Pearl Reminds me of John 15.16:

"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."

Beautiful! I especially like, "I'm not just a grain of sand." What a lovely testimony. Poetry/songs like this teach new believers how God works and the results of walking with Him. Do you already have music for it?

I shared this on mother's day

That was really nice. I enjoyed it. You have a pleasant, powerful, voice. Though you may already have known that. Lol That's a great song, I've never heard it before. I like the part where your kids are embarrassed by your public show of affection. Brings back memories. Bless you, Mayflower.

Thanks! It is called "Slow Down" by Nicole Nordeman. I really wanted to sing it. I wrote a song before and sang it. I believe I recorded it somewhere. Ill have to look for it.

I can easily see this being a song others would make their own and sing to God from their hearts. A passionate prayer.

MY FOREVER FRIEND

I have a friend who walks beside me
On this path that is my life.
I know he will protect and guide me;
Comfort me in times of strife.

He is my rock; he is my fortress,
He is my king, my all in all.
He is my shield, he is my refuge;
He will catch me when I fall.

When my strength is all but gone,
And I feel I can’t go on,
He reaches out and takes my hand;
He lifts me from the searing sand
And carries me a while.

Until my spirit’s been restored
My Jesus, my redeemer Lord
Holds me close against his breast;
In him my weary soul finds rest.

And when he knows I’ll stand secure
He sets me on my feet once more.
I turn to look into his face,
Awed by his power, love and grace;
And regaining strength with every stride
I continue walking by his side
Refreshed.
