Messiah - (Anointed) - Christ

Hebrew 'Mashiach' = Messiah (H4899),
Translated:- 'anointed' and 'Messiah'.

Hello there,

'Prophet', 'Priest' and 'King' were all roles which required God's anointing: but in the Lord Jesus Christ all three roles are fulfilled. For He was anointed for all three roles.

The words, 'This is my Beloved Son,' is the formula for consecration:-

- As Prophet - Matthew 3:17;
- As Priest - Matthew 17:5; Mark 9:7; Luke 9:35; 2 Peter 1:17. & Hebrews 5:5
- As King - Hebrews 1:5; Psalm 2:6-7 (Prophetically); Acts of the Apostles 13:32-33​

Those two crowns, one of thorns and one of precious metal and precious stones; bring to mind the fact that for the believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is trusting Him for full salvation rich and free, yet bought at infinite cost; it is the crown of thorns that is the most precious of all, for it represents His suffering in our place, and dying and rising again that we may have life.
