I've been lurking around this forum for awhile, but haven't actually posted. So hello.

How do you guys deal with the aforementioned situation? My friend and I have known each other since we were toddlers, and last year he told me he wanted to become a priest. All of a sudden he says he doesn't believe in God, so it's really shocked me. I don't know what to do; he's one of the people I love best in the world, and I want to save him, yet I know I can't convert him. So I guess I just want to know how other people deal with the prospect of a loved one turning away from God. God Bless, Halo

First do you know what made him make this decision?? Was it one major event like a death or divorce. Or was it a lack of being able to find any truth even finding two churchs that agree can be a chore Many give up because they cant be fed and The good news of salvation and repentance is not usallally enough to substain ones faith by itself. Some get loose faith because sceince and Religion do not agree not true but most are not taught that. The reason he has lost his faith is important to finding out how to handle this best.

The bulk of my loved ones don't know Jesus. So I can empathize with your situation. Since it is a new change, I agree with Kriss. Ask him about what has led to the change of heart. Don't be pushy, but ask out of a heart of compassion. Second, pray for him. Ask God to show you how you can help him. Third, walk the Christian walk & avoid being preachy unless he brings it up. Or unless God leads you with what to say.May God bless you with wisdom & understanding. May you be a light in the darkness for you friend. May God move in his heart.

Thank you both for the advice. I'm still trying to find out what's happened, but he did tell me that the morals of Christianity are similar to the ones in Buddhism, so I suspect he feels Christianity doesn't have a right to claim itself as the only way to God... Thanks again, and God Bless!

If he wanted to be a priest at one point perhaps the two of you doing a Bible study together will help clarify his why.But stay in prayer because he may try to pull you down if your faith is weak.Pray without ceasing and use any of his rebukes as an opportunity to grow.Dont attack him but go to him in love,Gods perfect love.
