Hi Oneoff,
I found "God on the Mountian" to be a soothing and uplifting song. I watched many songs of Gaither Music on YouTube starting with this song, along with my Dad. We had a blessed evening.
Thank You very much for these links. :)

p.s. ...still singing "...we all need somebody to lean on ..."

Stranger i somehow thought you would be a fan of country music. Here's the great country hymn sung in some churches today, Hank Williams wrote "I Saw the Light"

It's sad how Hank struggled with alcohol and drugs though, and died from it at a young age. But when you look at what influence he had on country music over his short life, it's amazing, and he wrote and recorded some great gospel songs in between his struggles.

Yes, that is a great song. Thanks. I enjoy the old country music. Lot of Blue Grass. Most of the new I don't listen to unless it's made like the old.

The Southern country music comes from the Bible Belt, which we are known as. So it always involves Gospel music as the Southern people were a Bible believing people.

'Spirit in the Sky' by Norman Greenbaum

I am going to have this song played last at my funeral. Many don't know it but this song was born out of a great revival time in America. Those coming out of the drug culture and anti-establishment culture were turning to Christ. Tired of war, tired of Vietnam, tired of the 'God is dead' philosophy. It was indeed a true revival from God.
