2 Corinthians 1:10,
10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
(1) Who delivered us from so great a death (the cross-sin nature out-spirit-Christ in-you in Christ-completed human being).
(2) and doth deliver (the ongoing renewing of the mind).
(3) in whom we trust that he will yet deliver (the body on the ressurection morning).
When you got born again the only part of you that was changed was spirit, or we what we say is exchanged, but change did come, but in spirit only. Your body and your soul is not touched in anyway as far as recieving a renewed mind or body as of yet. That comes in time and experience, growth in knowledge and understanding. For body that will be resurrection morning. Growth in the Lord is a mind component, it is not your spirit that is growing. There is not a blessed thing you grow in in spirit, it's all mind growth. Why is that? because you recieved everything necessary in spirit to make it possible to grow in soul-mind. You became a completed human being for the first time in spirit, in your earthly existence. You can begin to express more in spirit when you learn (mind) spiritual things such as (love, peace, joy, contentment, self control, Christ as life, so on), but growth will be in mind. Out is the Satan nature (sin nature) and in is the God nature. The nature of God is in Christ.
---a foot note: if you notice you do not recieve any fruits of the Spirit. What that means is you don't get peace from God, you get Christ. All the fruits of the Spirit are Christ in you characteristics, it is who he is, he is the fruit of the Spirit. So you recieve Christ not love, joy, peace, so on.
Here is where the games begin, everything in life now becomes a build up to you understanding your new life. Christianity 101 if you will, is a very plainly written process. The Old Testament is full of the Messiah coming into the earth, and the cross is written in the Old Testament, and what Jesus is doing when he is going to walk the earth, and so on. So Christianity is plainly written about, but what is not written about is God is going to birth his own children, that is the mystery, Romans 16:25,
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
That is what makes a Christian, the born again, creator God all almighty literally births his very own offspring. I have been told on many occasions that is not what that really means, and then you get an explanation of why it's not so, mixed with a couple of scriptures to prove their point.
What happens to those that do not understand God's literal fatherhood is they struggle with growth in knowledge and understanding. They can literally be born again, birthed by God the father and still not understand. For the most part that is ok because your father will teach you and you will understand in time. The deep understanding of Christ in you does not fall into our laps for the simple reason of; we reject spiritual things when we don't understand them. We like to be on the safe side so to speak, and what I know is my little comfort zone, some feel what they know may be all there is to know. Religion runs off rejection because they have little or no understanding of the things of God, so the deep things of God are rejected.
Israel rejected the gospel because it took away their relationship with God, at least they thought it would. They had the law relationship, and the law was their only means of communication to God. They were not born again, so after the cross and the apostles began their ministry to Israel, it was a tough task because that is all Israel knew. Obedience to the law was their God given method of relationship.
It is the same in Christianity, the lord may have given you an understanding for a season to bring about growth, but at some particular time he may lead you in another direction completely opposite of what you were seeing. It's called levels of understanding in the scriptures. So there is nothing to fear relax and enjoy the teaching of your father, he has spiritual things that are to be explored by the believer. Just like the pioneers of old, going into uncharted lands, a journey of unexplored territory.
One way to look at it is in the Psalms it is recorded that when God created everything in an instance he "spoke and it was, he commanded and it stood still." Point being; I bet he can handle our situation no matter what it is, he can be trusted.
