Revelation 17:12-14 New International Version (NIV)
12 “The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13 They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”

7 It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.
Many people believe this means one world government. It does not.
I already posted the verse says there were to the end. War requires an enemy.
But when you read the prophecies the AC army will be opposed by Western nations forced to turn back in his path for conquest at mid-tribulation. So he conquers Israel, with which he is had a peace treaty for 3 1/2 years giving them peace and security.
This is seven year treaty he breaks it mid-tribulation as stated in Daniel.
The definition of authority does not mean rulership in every case.

Another problem area is the mark of the beast. Many say it means all will take the mark.
But dictating everyone takes the mark does not mean all will take Mark.

So why is some of the so confusing?
Some is by not understanding the ancient Greek meaning of the words.
So is by the difficulty of reading in the archaic English of the KJV.
Unfortunately, some is just by some struggling basic rules of grammar.

The bottom line here is Mystery Babylon began with ancient Babylon and has developed and grown ever since.
It has infiltrated government, religion and economics.
It has been successful due to the efforts of demons appealing to basic human greed, selfishness and rejection of God.
It clearly shows that it has prospered under Romanism.
It co-opted some of early Christianity by blending in political power and paganism.
Revelation makes it clear Roman Catholic Church is the harlot writing the beast. Which will in the end destroy it.

It is also said that some tried to argue Nebuchadnezzar worshipped God.
That is like saying Satan bows to God because he is more familiar with God than any human being alive today.

With the realities of the world, including the creation of the EU, how can people still reject the realities of the Bible?
This is about the stupidest argument one can make about the KJV.
For hundreds of years (and even as we speak) Christians had no problem understanding what was written in the Authorized Version (KJB). This is another straw man erected by lovers of corrupted bibles such as the NIV. So you have actually been snared by the devil in this regard, and you don't even know it.
As to Mystery Babylon, it has run side by side with the Mystery of Iniquity since early times. Babylon was the first center of idolatry and false religions, and it will culminate under the Antichrist. Both Satan and the Antichrist, as well as his image, will be worshiped throughout the world. So Mystery Babylon will actually be centered in Jerusalem, which -- at that time -- will resemble Sodom and Egypt.
