Which of the old laws were no longer required to be adhered to when Jesus Christ came?
And which old laws remained? And which new laws were put in place by Jesus?

Jesus is your Saviour. He wants you to trust that he will do for you what you cannot do for yourself, that's the priority.

Dear Jessicaleks93,
The answers to your questions are a little complicated and involved so please bear with me.

100% of the Law is still required to be followed. It has not been abolished.

Because mankind is still required to follow the Law but has no ability to do so (proven by the Old Covenant), the Father sent Christ into the world to fulfill the Law for each and every person who has ever lived.

1John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

Christ's fulfillment of the Law (which results in mankind's salvation) contains TWO parts.

The first part was fulfilled by Christ's physical work which led Him to the cross. This physical work fulfilled the sacrificial ordinances of the Law. Because of that work, all the past, present and future sins of mankind will be forgiven. This physical work was done under the Old Covenant of Law and it applies to a person when they are "in Christ".

The second part "is, was and will be" fulfilled by Christ's spiritual work which He is presently doing under the New Covenant. Christ's spiritual work will change a person's heart and mind to be like His. This spiritual work results in a person's conversion from being a child of the devil who sins, into being a child of God who does not sin.

The verse below shows both parts of Christ's work to save mankind:

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life (part 1), and that they might have it more abundantly (part 2).

Christ gives mankind "life" by His physical work which ended at the cross. Christ gives mankind life "more abundantly" by His spiritual work that He will do within each person. After a person is converted and becomes a child of God, the Law will be fulfilled by Christ within that person because Christ will cause them to "will and do of His good pleasure" (Phi 2:13). The converted person will then follow the Law of God which is fulfilled by loving God and loving their neighbor.

I want to make one other point about the fulfillment of the law and will do so below. It is most important to understand.

Certain physical laws are a "foreshadowing" of their spiritual fulfillment. After a person is converted, the physical observance of those laws is no longer necessary because they are being spiritually observed. Below are two examples.

1). The Sabbath Day Law:

The physical observance of the Sabbath Day Law is spiritually fulfilled for a believer after they are converted (have both the Early and Latter Rains of the Spirit, followed by judgment). After the believer is converted, they have entered into the rest of Christ. In other words, the believer rests 24/7 every day of the week from their own labors of trying to make themselves acceptable to God. This is true because (under the New Covenant) Christ does 100% of the work to save a person. Mankind has no works to contribute. Christ accomplishes a person's salvation by His spiritual work which causes the person's heart and mind to change. After the person's heart and mind are fully changed by Christ, the person will only want to please God - and because of the Holy Spirit within them is powerful, they will have the ability to do so.

2). The physical communion law:

Physical communion is spiritually fulfilled after the believer has been given the Latter Rain of the Spirit and has had their spiritual blindness healed. It is at that time that Christ begins feeding the new child of God His truth (represented by physical bread and wine). The spiritual communion is also called the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

Summary:

Being "born again" into a child of God is mankind's salvation and is the meaning of life which seems to elude most people (including most believers). Mankind's salvation isn't a ticket to go to heaven, it is being made into a new creation who loves God and who does not sin.

Because Christ does all the work of saving a person, mankind's salvation is 100% certain to happen. In this age, Christ is only saving the people who have been chosen from the foundation of the world for an "early" salvation. They are few in number and are called the Elect/First Fruits/saints/heirs/bride. They are the ONLY ONES who Christ is saving in this age. In the next and final age, Christ will save the balance of mankind during their time of judgment in the Lake of Fire (a symbol for His judgment, it is not literal fire). After Christ has saved the last person, Christ's reign AND the ages will come to an end. Christ will then deliver up the Kingdom of Heaven to the Father and God will be "all in all" (1Cor 15:20-28). At that time, these scriptures will be testified to be true:

Phi 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 and that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

1Tim 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; 4 who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Which of the old laws were no longer required to be adhered to when Jesus Christ came?
And which old laws remained? And which new laws were put in place by Jesus?
Let's take a look somethings Paul says in (Gal. 3:1, 13, 16-17, 19, 24) (v.1) O FOOLISH Ga-la’-tians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? (v.13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, CURSED IS EVERYONE THAT HANGETH ON A TREE: What law is this talking about? Let the bible speak for itself.

(v.16) Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of One, AND TO THY SEED, which is Christ. (v.17) And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

To sum up what going on here in Galatians, Paul is explaining that Christ came from Abraham seed, and remove the animal Sacrificial law. But in the days of Abraham that animal Sacrificial law never was on the table, and was not needed for Abraham to obey and have faith in God. But the Commandments was always on the table.

Now pay attention, the law that is being spoken of here came four hundred and thirty years after this covenant. But God’s holy commandments have been around forever even before man was created. Remember that Satan was kicked out of heaven because iniquity (sin) was found in him. And what is sin? The transgression of the law (commandments). Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Now we have just read the biblical definition of sin, the transgression (breaking) of the law (commandments.) It doesn’t matter what you or I think sin is, it’s what God says sin is that counts. (1John 3:4)

(v.19) Wherefore then serveth the law? A question is being asked here. Then why should we serve this law? It was added because of transgression, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; the law that we are talking about here was added because of sin. But we now know that sin is the transgression of the law.

How do you add a law if sin is the transgression of the law? Because there are two sets of laws, you have God’s holy commandments which abided forever, and you had the animal sacrificial law which was added because of sin, but it was only good until the seed should come to whom the promise was made, and that seed was Jesus.

(v.24) Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. This animal sacrificial law was only a schoolmaster. (Paul breaks down more of this law in Hebrew 10th Chapter)

And this schoolmaster taught you that when you sinned in ignorance blood had to be shed (an animal sacrificed). But Christ being the ultimate sacrifice shed his precious blood once and for all, and by doing this putting an end to the animal sacrificial law.
