Hello,

Do the older Steam games run on the newer computers? I would like to play the Thief series but as I remember there were some problems with it and new computers on install.
I bought Deus Ex human revolution and never could get it to play on my machine. Steam refunded my money after I gave up trying to get it to work.
I just hate to buy these older games if they don't run on the newer machines.

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

Have you tried comparability mode?
Or partition your drive and use duel operating systems?

Hello welcome to forums, I have never had much problems with running games on steam, I might have a little trouble starting a steam game or 2 after a fresh download and install, but it was easily fixed by setting it to "Run As Administrator" or finding any missing dll files on the internet, if it came up with that error. Usually with an older game though a "set to compatibility" like said above or a "Run as administrator" will fix it.
