Love means so many things to so many people. To most of the world, love is tolerance -- tolerance for anyone's faults, opinions, lifestyle, and private activities.

In Paul's prayer for the Phillipians (Phil. 1:9) he asked that their love would abound yet more and more in knowledge and in judgment. It is important to realize that real love operates with the proper use of knowledge and judgment.

It is written of Jesus that He loved righteousness and hated iniquity. Oftentimes, the best way to show one's love is to show one's hatred for iniquity (not the sinner).

Tolerance may be this age's newest religion, but it simply doesn't fit in the Christian life because Christians must make discerning judgments through knowledge of the word. Remember, we're instructed in Scripture that the spiritual man judges all things!

The Ten Commandments can also be summed up in the word "love" (agape). But they also show that God loves righteousness and hates iniquity. Therefore He commands all men everywhere to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. And Jesus said "If you love me, you will keep my commandments".
