†. 1Cor 6:15-16 . . Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them
members of a harlot? God forbid! Or do you not know that he who is joined
to a harlot is one body with her? For the two; says He, shall become one
flesh.

According to that passage, and Gen 2:24 too, the one-flesh unity that men
forge with the women they sleep with is merely physical; which is precisely
why those kinds of unities aren't eternal. Were people's bodies immortal
then their one-flesh unities would be eternal. But people's bodies aren't
immortal; no, they eventually expire. When their flesh expires, then along
with it their one-flesh unities expire too. Had the Lord's opponents
understood that, they wouldn't have tried to corner him with that ridiculous
question recorded at Mtt 22:23-30.

†. 1Cor 6:17 . . But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in
spirit.

In contrast to a one-flesh unity-- which only lasts until one's body expires
--this unity is a one-spirit unity; which is a horse of a different color.

According to John 5:26 and 1John 1:1-2, Christ has eternal life. And
according to John 5:24 and 1John 5:13, believers have it too. Well . . .
eternal life is a kind of life that's impervious to death. So then, since Christ
and I both have eternal life; then our one-spirit unity will never be in danger
of dissolution due to one of us dying.

FAQ : is it absolutely necessary to have eternal life in order to be one spirit
with Christ?

An "expert witness" can be defined as: A witness, who by virtue of
education, training, skill, or experience; is believed to have knowledge in a
particular subject beyond that of the average person, sufficient that others
may officially (and legally) rely upon the witness' specialized (scientific,
technical or other) opinion about an evidence or fact issue within the scope
of their expertise-- referred to as the expert opinion --as an assistance to
the fact-finder.

According to God's testimony then, as an expert witness in all matters
pertaining to His own son; people without eternal life are, in reality, quite
christless.

†. 1John 5:9-12 . .We accept human testimony; but God's testimony carries
more weight because it's the testimony of God, which He has given about
His son . . . And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this
life is in His son. He who has The Son has this life; he who does not have
this life, does not have God's son.
