I will show that there were two churches that for a time existed together. There was a church in Jerusalem I call the temple church, the little flock and the believing remnant of Israel. This church had Peter and the eleven as their apostles. Then after Paul's conversion Jesus revealed to him the church, the body of Christ. Paul is our apostle in the body.

[Matthew 9:35 KJV] "And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.".........The gospel of the kingdom Christ was that the time was fulfilled for Israel to receive their prophetic Davidic kingdom on earth.

[Luke 12:32 KJV] "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."........the little flock of believing Israel will be given the Davidic kingdom on earth.

[2 Samuel 7:12 KJV] "And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom."
[2 Samuel 7:13 KJV] "He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever."..........This passage establishes that the throne of David will be established forever. Christ will rule in David's throne in the millennial kingdom.

[Exodus 19:5 KJV] "Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth [is] mine:"
[Exodus 19:6 KJV] "And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These [are] the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel............Only Israel was promised to be priests and an holy nation...............[1 Peter 1:1 KJV] "Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,".........Peter is writing to the scattered little flock believing remnant.,,...,,,,,,,,[1 Peter 2:9 KJV] "But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"...........Peter is saying the scattered little flock will be the priesthood and holy nation promised in Exodus 19:5-6. Paul never applies this to the body of Christ; he never says the body of Christ will be a holy nation or a priesthood.

[Galatians 1:13 KJV] "For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:".........The church of God Paul persecuted was not the body of Christ. The body of Christ revealed to Paul by Jesus wasn't yet revealed.............[Acts 7:58 KJV] "And cast [him] out of the city, and stoned [him]: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul."
[Acts 7:59 KJV] "And they stoned Stephen, calling upon [God], and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."[Acts 8:1 KJV] "And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles."
[Acts 11:19 KJV] "Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.".........Paul(Saul) consented to Stephen's death and Paul's persecution of the little flock resulted in them being scattered.

[Psalm 44:11 KJV] "Thou hast given us like sheep [appointed] for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen."............God scattered Israel.

[Joel 3:2 KJV] "I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and [for] my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land."
[Matthew 9:36 KJV] "But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd."
[John 11:52 KJV] "And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad."..........Scripture describes the children of God, Israel, as being scattered as can be seen in James..........[James 1:1 KJV] "James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting."

The church that Paul persecuted can only be the little flock that was scattered. The believing remnant of Israel were scattered. This was the only church that existed for Paul to persecute, the body of Christ was yet to be revealed. The church under Peter was primarily composed of believing Jews. Gentiles weren't included, for the most part, until Acts 10. Nowhere in scripture is the body of Christ said to be scattered. The only entity that was scattered was the believing remnant of Israel.
