Have you ever thought

"Who's that person I'm talking to behind the computer screen"

Have you ever wondered if they are the same in 3d land as they are online (You know the one that has the bird's & the butterflies) I think that you will likely see the true character of most people online, because they are unfettered by the physical element that most of us struggle with in socializing.

Some, yes I have. But, then there are those that I personally, have an affinity for and have come to know pretty well. After awhile, I think, you can get the feel of a person.

Some, sure...and then you have the fraudulent-they can be whoever they want YOU to think they are, such as dating sites, child pornography and so on.

If we are not who we are anywhere, with anyone whether it's online, in the company of the the opposite sex or the same sex for that matter, with children or authority figures we qualify as hypocrites.
The path to life is narrow for good reasons.

ALONE

And only one could sing the song
t’was he who felt the pain
this crushing was a dastard thing
betrayed, forsaken, maimed

On either side the flames were spent
in dying flickering haste
the cry is heard, remember me
this useless broken waste

Oh words so sweet have ne’er been heard
‘I say to you this day’
with me you’ll be in paradise
forgiven, whole and safe

Intense the heat, my belly sears
no ears to hear the news
with greater thirst am driven on
it breaks the bloody blues

This rocky, narrow, lonely trail
and who will hold my hand?
a distant voice says trust in me
points to the promised land

As words pour forth in jumbled script
my heart it feels the thrill
anticipation of release
a hope nothing can kill

With glistening eyes and flooded cheeks
the words flow from my pen
my Abba has forgiven me
enough! the song is sung.

You have a very creative mind, that's your poem right? I remember that feeling in faith well, you just feel so safe and secure.

Very true. I just skyped Heart2Soul yesterday! Such a wonderful lady. Hopefully I seem a bit less crazy with my cute daughter. Bahahaha

yes, my poem. A consciousness of the value of salvation always accompanies an awareness of ones own shortcomings.

Interesting Thread. :)

With myself I find that at first I give everyone ( on line) the benefit of doubt...assuming that most people are "open and honest"...sadly found that some are not...but come on line with an agenda.
After a while the 'real' person becomes obvious ...
Maybe we just pick things up in the spirit as it were.
Our friend @bbyrd009 ..can often come across as 'negative' in what he says/posts sometimes...but it didn't take me long to see the heart in him... Some I am sure miss that totally...

I try to be open and transparent both on line and in life...
...but I do wonder just how much we really 'know' ourselves!!

I am not sure which is 'me'.
I was a very withdrawn, shy, nervous child...then something happened in my life ...and at 11 years old when we changed schools I became tough, mouthy , and started having followers at school because I would fight with anyone...girls or boys...
I never allowed myself to be 'pushed around' by anyone again.

I have lived in this skin so long now...so, which one is the real 'me'? o_O
I have kind of blended.
But my aim is to be open and honest.

Maybe we fool ourselves more than we fool others!!

the observation that no one knows the version of us that we believe ourselves to be is pertinent here, and i am vaguely recalling a parlor game that functions on the differences in perceptions of an individual; but i never played it. Something about writing down characteristics of the subject and then they have to pick the one that was meant to be applied to them? And i think the premise is that hilarity ensues in the realizing the gulf in perceptions? maybe i made that up though, i used to read a lot of comics lol

I have been told I can be more serious when I am writing online. I think it depends on where I am online :)
