Peter and Paul preached different messages on the name of Jesus:

Peter and the twelve preached whosoever believed in the name of Jesus was saved.

[Jhn 1:12 KJV] 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:

[Jhn 3:18 KJV] 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

[Jhn 20:31 KJV] 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

There was no mention of reconciliation by the cross (Colossians 1:20), and in fact the understanding of the death and resurrection was hid from the twelve (Luke 18:34).

[Col 1:20 KJV] 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say], whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven.

[Luk 18:34 KJV] 34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

Paul preached salvation in the name of Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:2 1 Corinthians 6:11 Ephesians 5:20) and by the cross (1 Corinthians 1:18 Colossians 1:20 Galatians 6:14 Ephesians 2:16) and the mystery (Romans 16:25) The mystery was that all could be saved, Jew and Gentile, by believing his gospel ( 1 Corinthians 15:1,3,4) and become a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17) in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27).

[1Co 1:2 KJV] 2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called [to be] saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

[1Co 1:18 KJV] 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

[Rom 16:25 KJV] 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

[1Co 15:1, 3-4 KJV] 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; ... 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

[2Co 5:17 KJV] 17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

[1Co 12:27 KJV] 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Hello Doug the opening post is too simplistic Jesus and the 12 preached much more than just believing in jesus to be saved, you need to elaborate so we can discuss.

It is simplistic....they only had to believe he was Christ, the Son of God

[Jhn 20:31 KJV] 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

What did John say above and Paul below?

[2Co 1:12 KJV] 12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
[2Co 11:3 KJV] 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

ill give you an example of what Jesus said so you understand that just believing in jesus is not enough, it was the first part of Jesus message but entails so much more.

Luke 6:46, where Jesus says:

"But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do the things which I say?"

if you love him you will do as Jesus asked. he said in John 14:15

"If you love Me, keep My commandments."

Do you understand what this means?

For Israel before Paul to have eternal life they only had to believe on him. Believing entailed believing on his name that he is Christ the Son of God.
[Act 4:12 KJV] 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Now entering the Davidic kingdom on earth was another matter
[Mat 19:16-17, 23-24 KJV] 16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. ... 23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

To enter into the kingdom they had to keep the commandments
Look at v17 to enter the kingdom is linked to entering into life
In v23 24 Jesus is talking about entering the kingdom

Doug, First you must know that GOD DOES NOT CHANGE! He IS, WAS, AND FOREVER WILL BE

To enter the Kingdom of heaven, keeping the commandments are still a necessity today just as before.
In Revelation 12:17, the faithful are described as those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus.
"Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus."
This verse illustrates the dual nature of Christian faith: obedience to God's commandments and faith in the testimony of Jesus. The "offspring" of the woman (symbolizing the faithful people of God) are those who live according to God's commands.
In this verse of Revelations 14:12, those who endure in the face of persecution and temptation are described as those who keep the commandments of God and remain faithful to Jesus.
"This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus."
Here, keeping the commandments of God is directly tied to the endurance of faith. The idea is that perseverance in following God's commandments is a sign of true faithfulness, which is crucial for those who will inherit eternal life.

The 10 commandments are the moral law and do define sin, they were written by GOD himself and placed in the ark of the "covenant". the covenant are the 10 commandments! ;

Exodus 34:28 (NKJV)

So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.”

the ark of the COVENANT was seen in heaven in a future time, this demonstrates how IMPORTANT the covenant or the 10 commandments are to GOD!;

Revelation 11:19 (NKJV)
"Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail."

the 10 Commandments being the covenant, old and New Were given to us by GOD himself ans will NEVER pass away, of this, I am 1000% certain.

About the Kingdom I have a lot to say also but it would be too much for this post.

One question for you Doug, What church to you belong to? what denomination would this be? I will share with you that I have NEVER to this day found a church that follows the words of the Bible, it is why for now anyways I am non denominational. I was raised as a catholic went to catholic schools and church when I was young but when I started to read the bible, I knew they were wrong on many things so I do not consider myself a catholic anymore.

If you have any questions I will always be here for you for as long as I can. The truth is in the bible and only there The words of Jesus say ALL. We need to focus on this and compare EVERYTHING to what Jesus was Teaching. For anything that seem different or contradictory to the words of Jesus who is one with GOD, must be rejected of this I am also certain!

Blessings

[Deu 4:13 KJV] 13 And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, [even] ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

The ten commandments were, as quoted a covenant

What does Paul say about the ten commandments?

[2Co 3:3 KJV] 3 [Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

[Rom 3:31 KJV] 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Paul did not void the commandments

We are to be obedient to the commands given to us by Paul but not for eternal life but to live unto God and fulfill the righteousness of the law (2 Cor 5:15 Gal 2:19 Rom 13:9-10)

A quick answer here You made a mistake: ""We are to be obedient to the commands given to us by Paul"" let me correct , Paul did give you NOTHING, Christ gave you and and everyone who believe and Obey him everything, He gave us the commandments and told us what to do to inherit the Kingdom and eternal life not Paul. Jesus paid for by his own Blood the penalty of sin. Please to not put Paul above or equal to Jesus, it is a Grave mistake! we all need to follow our master who is Jesus and no one else, never.

What Paul refers to here is from Jeremiah 31:31-33, the new covenant also called the 10 commandments put in our hearts, all 10 of them as GOD gave them to us all. I am short for time but will write back about the Kingdom this evening.

Jesus is our good shepherd see what he declares in John 10:1-18 (NKJV);
John 10:1-18 in the New King James Version (NKJV), with the verses quoted in italics:

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.”

“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

Paul is NOT our shepherd not could he ever be.

Hello Doug, Sorry for the long text below I wanted it to be clear, it is based only on scripture and not on any personal opinions or commentaries, I could not find the original but rewrote it for you from memory, it is a summary.

The Kingdom of Heaven is a key theme in Jesus' teachings, with Repentance from sin and He often used simple stories, called parables, to explain it. He described it as something valuable and worth everything you have, like a treasure hidden in a field or a pearl of great price (Matthew 13:44-46). It’s also a place where God's will is done perfectly, and people live in peace, love, and justice.

When Does It Start?
Jesus taught that the Kingdom of Heaven starts in a small way but grows over time. He compared it to a mustard seed, which is tiny but grows into a large tree (Matthew 13:31-32). In one sense, the kingdom is already here because Jesus began it during His time on earth. He said, "The Kingdom of God is within you" or "in your midst" (Luke 17:21). This means it’s a spiritual reality now for those who follow God. But the full Kingdom will only come in the future when Jesus returns. This is often called His Second Coming, and that’s when He will bring justice, defeat evil, and rule over the earth completely.

Signs of the Kingdom's Arrival
Jesus gave specific signs to help us recognize when the Kingdom is near. These include:
Wars and Rumors of Wars: He said, "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet" (Matthew 24:6). Natural Disasters: "There will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows" (Matthew 24:7-8). Persecution of Believers: "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake" (Matthew 24:9). The Gospel Preached Worldwide: "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come" (Matthew 24:14). Heavenly Signs: "The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken" (Matthew 24:29).

The Millennium and the Remnant of Israel
Revelation talks about a thousand-year reign (Revelation 20:4-6), often called the Millennial Kingdom, where Jesus will rule on earth. This period is closely tied to the promises made to Israel. The prophets, including Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, spoke of a time when God would restore the remnant of Israel—a faithful group who remain loyal to Him. For example:
Isaiah: "Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains... and all nations shall flow to it" (Isaiah 2:2-4).
Jeremiah: "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness... Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" (Jeremiah 23:5-6).
Ezekiel: "Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean... I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you" (Ezekiel 36:25-27).

During this time, Jerusalem will be central, and the nations will come to learn God’s ways. The remnant of Israel will finally experience the fulfillment of God’s covenant promises, living in peace and righteousness under Jesus’ rule. Note that anyone who want to be part of the kingdom is invited not only Israel. see; The Parable of the Great Banquet (Luke 14:16-24)

The Eternal Kingdom
After the thousand years, Satan will be defeated forever, and God will create a new heaven and a new earth (Revelation 21:1-3). This is the eternal kingdom, where God Himself will dwell with His people. There will be no more pain, death, or sorrow. The New Jerusalem, described as a glorious city, will descend from heaven. God’s people from every nation will live with Him forever, worshiping Him in perfect harmony (Revelation 21:22-27). This eternal kingdom fulfills the ultimate plan of God, bringing together His faithful from all ages to enjoy His presence and love forever.

A Few Parables of the Kingdom of Heaven
The Mustard Seed (Matthew 13:31-32): Jesus said, "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches." The Kingdom starts small but grows into something great and far-reaching.
The Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13): Jesus compared the Kingdom to ten virgins waiting for a bridegroom. Five were wise and brought extra oil for their lamps, while five were foolish and didn’t bring enough. When the bridegroom came, the wise virgins entered the wedding feast, but the foolish ones were locked out. Be prepared for the Kingdom, because Jesus could return at any time.

The Kingdom of Heaven began spiritually with Jesus and will fully arrive when He returns. The Millennial Kingdom will be a time of peace and righteousness on earth, fulfilling promises to the remnant of Israel. This will be followed by the eternal Kingdom, where God’s people will live with Him forever in a new heaven and earth. Jesus’ parables remind us to value the Kingdom, prepare for it, and trust that it will grow into something amazing and everlasting.

Blessings.

listen GOD gave us the Commandments, That we know, sent his Son Jesus, who magnified these commandments by explaining they must be in out minds, in our hearts. Paul liked to boast this is what he does here no more . God gave us the commandments to obey not Paul. I am 10000000% certain on this!

What are these commandments of Paul Show me!

Why do you follow Paul and NOT Jesus like you should? is it because it is much easier? I would like to know.

What Paul refers to here is from Jeremiah 31:31-33, the new covenant also called the 10 commandments put in our hearts, all 10 of them as GOD gave them to us all
[Heb 8:10 KJV] 10 For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

The new covenant will be made with Israel not the church today

[Deu 30:8 KJV] 8 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

The ten commandments are in the law but they will obey all the law

Paul is NOT our shepherd not could he ever be.
Paul never said he was our shepherd nor did he say we are his sheep.....Jesus is Israel the sheep's shepherd

[Jhn 10:14, 16 KJV] 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my [sheep], and am known of mine. ... 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd.

ill give you an example of what Jesus said so you understand that just believing in jesus is not enough, it was the first part of Jesus message but entails so much more.

Luke 6:46, where Jesus says:

"But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do the things which I say?"

if you love him you will do as Jesus asked. he said in John 14:15

"If you love Me, keep My commandments."

Do you understand what this means?
Does one truly BELEIVE IN HIM if one believes not the things HE says .
Lets examine israel and WHY it was not allowed to enter into the land at the beginning of its journey .
Notice they didnt say HEY there IS NO SUCH thing as GOD .
No they believed per say , ITS JUST they DID NOT BELIEVE HIM .
Abraham is a good example of true faith , true beleif
WHEN GOD said ABRAHAM BELEIVED and DID .
There is a huge difference between those who cliam to beleive
and those who TRULY DO BELIEVE .
The latter Not only cliam to BELIEVE IN HIM , FRIEND THEY BELIEVE HIM , HIS WORDS , and thus are doers .
Abraham beleived GOD , GOD said abraham believed and HE DID .
ITS ALL TIED TOGETHER . What we LOVE , What we do , WHO WE OBEY , IS WHOSE we are .
And this die daily battle against the flesh is our walk till our last day on earth or THE LORD do come .
So remember , IF JESUS said it , WE BELEIVE IT . IF it is written WE BELEIVE IT .
but many follow rather these men and BELIEVE what they sell as truth and yet their so called truth
TWISTS and omits WHAT HE SAID . Meaning THEY BELIEVE IN MEN , TRUST IN MEN and their own carnal knowledge
NOT IN GOD , NOT IN HIS WORDS , but in themselves .

listen GOD gave us the Commandments, That we know, sent his Son Jesus, who magnified these commandments by explaining they must be in out minds, in our hearts. Paul liked to boast this is what he does here no more . God gave us the commandments to obey not Paul. I am 10000000% certain on this!

What are these commandments of Paul Show me!

Why do you follow Paul and NOT Jesus like you should? is it because it is much easier? I would like to know.
Therein lies the problem . I say if peter , james , paul , jude etc
wrote it , ITS TRUTH . Because IT all came of the SPIRIT which is Truth .
In fact the more one reads the truth in scriptures having all faith in CHRIST JESUS
the more they see that not a one of these men contradicted one the other , OR CHRIST JESUS HIMSELF .
But men like to pit apostle against apostel or omit things They taught .
YET not a one of them contradicted CHRIST or one another . What was left for us to learn in that bible
IS TRUTH . EVERY word of it .
Pilate once asked but what is truth .
JESUS said FOr this reason came I into the world to TESTIFY OF THE TRUTH
every man who is of the Truth HEARS my VOICE .
Every word in that bible left to us IS TRUTH . And the more we read the far better off we would have been .
So long as i am in this tabernacle i shall stir thee up by putting thee in remembrance , wrote peter
and even after my decease shall make a way for you to have these things always in rememberance .
AND that same peter made mention of PUAL . when he DID he never said OH DONT HEED PAUL eitiher .
THEY KNEW They all spoke truth . ITS time we learn the same .

Paul and all them preached the same gospel . The truth they left us for to read is GOOD for our soul .
WHEN peter made mention of paul
HAD PUAL been false , PETER WOULD HAVE SAID SO . Rather he made mention of the same WISDOM given unto paul
That many unlearned and unstable , double minded , wrest as they do other scrips unto their own destructoin .
NOTICE peter mentions paul as HAVING THE WISDOM . not as one they should not heed . KEEP that in mind .
THEY all followed CHRIST and they all taught the truth .
