imo you should fast for about a week/10 days first, and then come ask again if you still need to

You know how I feel about it. Give yourself the time to develop a better idea of HOW to read it first. Considering the things you have already been told to accept, I think it is imperative that you address that propensity for seeing with biased eyes that you may have absorbed first. You probably lack that openness at this point.

Yes. Read it for yourself and if you have a question...ask someone here.

Start with one of the four gospels....maybe John would be best.
He was the only one standing at the cross with Jesus...together with Jesus' mother, her sister, and Mary Magdalene.

He died at the old age of 90 on an island where he had been banished.
He speaks about how Jesus is the Word of God and how He is God.

Otherwise Luke might be good...it tells the most history about Jesus' life.

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes. But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

Not a good idea if you've never fasted that long. I can fast 2-3 day's top, then I start feeling faint. If you don't know how to fast for long periods of time it is unwise to do so.

It really isn't known as a positive fact, but I think he is thought to have died at Ephesus sometime after AD 98.

Fast as in abstain from food and other worldly things. After three days start reading the Bible cover to cover, and don't stop fasting till you're done. Gorge on the word to satisfy your hunger. I fasted with juice when I was first searching, but I'm sure you could make some other fast work.

Well, I used to also believe (because I was told this) that Revelation was written in AD 94. I have since read enough evidence to believe it was, instead, written about 66 or 67.

    GodsGrace,

John's Gospel has some challenging theology in it, especially for the JW, e.g. John 1:1; John 5:17-18; John 8:58; John 10:30-33.

I'd recommend starting with what is considered to be the first Gospel, the Gospel of Mark, and then go to the Book of Acts which describes the preaching of the Gospel and the spread of the early church.

Why do you allow a non-believing atheist to give advice to Christians yet you chastise Christians for inappropriate posts?

If that's what you choose to do, but as I said there are other fasts that do not require totally giving up on food.
