Latest prognosis re Christine's cancer is just too devastating to explain in detail.
A week ago she was given 2 years at best/6 months at worst, but yesterday the spread was deemed to be so intense that they will scan again in two week's time and expect to shorten the prognosis even further.
An hour ago I had a call from a paliative care specialist who said the doctors had already instructed her to attend immediately.....makes it all seem so cut and final, and without a glimmer of hope.

Heavenly Father, please look to Mike and Christine, to give them both your comfort and love, and to have wisdom and understanding of what they should do to best care for her. Please give Christine your healing and strength! And please increase Mike's faith, and give them both the knowledge of Your love for them! And for her doctors, that they would know Your will, and do it. Draw them both so close to You through this, in Jesus' Name!

So sorry, Sir; John 14.27 is a precious verse: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Praying...

Oh Mike, don't ever, ever give up hope! Rather than "cut and final" it is starting anew if God calls Christine home.
You always have us here to support and encourage and lift you up brother!!! Isn't that what Church is for??!!
His strength, comfort and faith.
xx

Oh Mike..that is devastating news. Poor Christine.
Dave and I are praying that you and her are put into a bubble of God's love , may you both feel the presence of peace settle over you both, and the knowledge that He is in the boat with you both. You are not alone at this time. As a caregiver I know that it will be hard for you to not be to able to solve this for Christine. As you know, I saw my dad through to the last breath..it is very very hard.

May angels be in attendance at all time.

Every blessing Helen and Dave x

Brother,
Our lives are in God's hands, before, during and after such challenges that come.
He is able to heal your wife, if she is to be used in the kingdom growth, to reach one more person, or prayer for loved ones more than she has. If she has completed those good works that were ordained for her, then God might use this trial as the door way to see her Lord face to face.
We all have an appointed time, a time set by God.
One thing that has helped me understand how this works was a sermon by the puritan Robert Trail on jn17;

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

He pointed out that for this prayer of Jesus to be answered...he said this-

We must leave those who we love here,
in order to be with Him where He is there.

This sermon on this verse has never left me as family members have moved on. We can be thankful for so great a salvation that God has made known to us.
You can be thankful for a godly helpmeet that God has given you to make it through this earthly life.

I will pray that you and your wife will have the faith to trust God completely in the problems you are going through.

Mike, I have been pondering the best way of blessing you both, and I still am coming back to my usual prayer response for people.

May the Lord continue to draw you both into His Loving Embrace such that you both know how secure you are in the Lord and that the Lord will never fail you both no matter how the journey you both are on, plays out in the future.

Shalom
