Please pray for my wife's daughter Amanda, her husband, Allen, and their two children, Jerry and Sicily. They moved to the Phoenix, Arizona area, about 2500 miles away around July 1. They don't know anyone there and they are not believers. Allen has a tenth grade education and is seeking employment, so far without success. They have few resources, no beds, virtually no furniture and are using fans instead of air conditioning in this hot desert climate as they cannot afford the utility expense. Amanda is attending college on line and plans to home school Jerry who will be entering second grade. Sicily is 3. I am sending them money for food. They have not been able to receive assistance so far from the local welfare department. I can foresee them becoming homeless or becoming the subject of a child protective investigation.

Hello newlife,

I have prayed. God bless you and them. And may God draw them to Him.

I myself am on energy assistance. Since I work and have no dependent children, I don't qualify for welfare, but I do for this. Have them check into that. Saying having AC in the desert is nice, is an understatement. B)

God bless you again my brother. :)

Thank you for your prayers. I have a list of agencies and charities in the Phoenix- Glendale area ready to provide Amanda as soon as i get permission from my wife to provide the information.

Linda, my wife, feels that contact with her daughter Amanda is stressful. She also recently injured her back which further increases her stress. Linda has Amanda's current, new phone number. I do not. I could go onto Linda's laptop to obtain Amanda's e-mail address, but prefer not to do this. I told her that I would contact Amanda myself if this would be less stressful to her. She asked me today to wait a few days. There is a lot of confusion, conditions are volatile and rational decisions are not being made. Please keep the situation in prayer

Ok. Your hands are kinda tied. :)

But just remind your wife that her grandchildren would probably appreciate the info so the house can be cooler for them. :)

Blessings and prayers towards you and yours. :) :) :)

I spoke with Amanda and Allen this evening and e-mailed them the information. The assistance they are receiving from social services is minimal. Allen has made little progress finding a job and Amanda is having panic attacks.

I know it sounds strange, but the less assistance they are receiving, the better regarding the energy assistance being able to help. They will see their momentary plight and evaluate that they are indeed in need of energy assistance.
Not having to worry about the heat will be one less problem in which for them to worry. It's a start, for them.

I'm glad your wife let you talk to them. It's a start, for you and them. A journey begins with a single step, right ?

Still praying for you and yours.

It will get better newlife. God sees. And knows. We just gotta keep a faithful attitude regarding the truth that He has our best interest at heart.

Father God, lead Allen to a good paying job, so he may support his family. The very thing every good man wishes to do, emulating you, for you support us. In the precious name of your only begotten son, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
