The incredible advances in computer technology over recent years prompted me to write the following little tale -PROCESSING POWER by MickAt last it was finished, and the dozens of computer technicians and scientists stood back to admire their creation, a gigantic new super-computer of such immense power never seen before, complete with an ability to not only think for itself but to analyse any question put to it and deliver a stunning answer.Here at last was a tool to solve all human society's problems such as disease, famine, war..everything..So a panel discussed what question to ask it first and they came up with this one which they eagerly typed into it - "What's the best piece of advice you give the human race?"The super-computer began whirring and humming, lights flashed, sparks came out the back, and disjointed letters and numbers flickered across the screen as if the machine was in distress,tapping into its vast array of databanks in a struggle to answer the question.The worried scientists began thinking of reaching for the 'off' switch, but then they began to make out words wildly jumping around the screen.Leaning closer they could just make out these words flitting across the monitor over and over again - "danger...........souls...........pray..........danger...........souls.............pray...........danger...........souls...........pray......danger...........souls.............pray...........danger...........souls...........pray......danger...........souls.............pray...........danger...........souls...........pray......danger...........souls.............pray...........danger...........souls...........pray......"-----------------------------------
