I'm 24 and maybe its too soon in my life to reflect on these matters, especially since I'm not married yet. I came across some scripture (Matthew 22:30) that is causing me confusion and even a little bit of angst.

Maybe it's my limited understanding and inability to fathom what God has planned for us, but what will become of my earthly relationships in heaven? How can God push marriage as a critical part of His plan only to nullify it in heaven? When I marry the love of my life, I want to spend eternity with her... not just my short lifetime. Will she become one of the masses in heaven who is just another sister in Christ to me? I would think our marriage on earth would still have some sort of significance in heaven???

Matthew 22:30 - For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

On such topics like these, "eye hath not seen, nor ear hath heard..". Silence is eloquence.

I think this gives some people a little anxiety sometimes, just talk to God about it. We don't know the answer to this question, but whatever God has planned, it'll be for the best dear one. (=
