Romans 12
1Therefore I exhort you, brothers, through the compassions of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy to God, well-pleasing, which is your reasonable service.

I saw a translation rendering it "in view of God's mercies" instead of "through the mercies of God".

Sometimes "dia" is rendered "because of", which would lend itself to "in view of".

See, this makes a difference, because "through the mercies of God" would refer to something working in Paul, whereas "in view of the mercies of God" would be be building up toward "reasonable".

Would "in view of God's mercies" be a legitimate translation?
