There was war in Heaven. Satan and his angels were cast out onto the earth, Revelation 12:7-12. He is still here. His angels are spiritual demons, causing trouble all over the world. Satan knows that his time is short, so he is causing more trouble than ever before, Revelation 12:12. Satan's purpose is to make trouble for those that are God's people so that they will not be effective witnesses for Christ and his Gospel. If you are a born-again Gospel believing Christian, you will suffer persecution. Paul said, "All that will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution" 2 Timothy 3:12.

Some preachers are preaching a "Prosperity Gospel" telling others that if they will become Christians they will prosper. This is not true for a number of reasons. Christians are Satan's enemies. Especially if you are teaching salvation by grace through faith. The devil hates the Gospel of Jesus Christ, simply because the Gospel is the door to Heaven. All that preach the Gospel are Satan's enemies. If you are not preaching the Gospel, he will still try to harass you because you still belong to Christ. Who does Satan use to persecute you? usually those that are the closest to you. Husband's, wife's, children. Can Satan use another Christian to persecute you? Satan can use anyone or anything to persecute you. Whatever is effective.

Why does God allow his people to be persecuted? It is when you are suffering persecution from others that you are going to be the strongest witness for Christ and his Gospel. Paul suffered terrible persecution for Christ and his Gospel. Paul saw his persecution to be a witness for Christ and his Gospel, Galatians 5:12. Can Satan use poor health to persecute you? Yes, but only if God allows it. Job suffered all kinds of miseries because God allowed it. In spite of all that Job suffered he persevered to the end. He was a great witness for the Lord and the Lord blessed him.

When we become Christian and have crossed over the line from darkness to light, we become members of God's army and enemies of Satan's army. This is why Paul said, "Finally my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armorer of God that you might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that you might be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace: above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all of the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplications for all of the saints" Ephesians 6:10-18.

Well said. The Prosperity Gospel is a corruption of the true Gospel, where Paul said "all who live godly in Christ will suffer persecution." Jesus himself said, "If they hate you, they hated me first."

The notion that God will prosper us is true, however--just not in an unbalanced treatment of the subject. God did say He would bless the nation and the people who live by His laws, who respond positively to His word. These blessings, however, do not prevent people from using their liberty to persecute the righteous. We are promised ultimate deliverance, and not absolute immunity to all evil.

We were warned by Jesus that before the Kingdom comes there will be opposition to it. Part of our testimony is the willingness to hold up a persecuted Christ. Salvation comes through our suffering because Grace has come to all of us as sinners. Though we are no longer under judgment, the Gospel is still coming to those who are incurring judgment.

Thanks for your bold word!

Satan uses every trick in his bag to keep people from believing the Gospel. Many follow after prosperity Gospels thinking that they are going to get rich. Satan has deceived them again. Maybe this is why Jesus said, "Few there be that find it" Matthew 7:14.

Sorry to hear. Shine the light upon discordant beliefs & aversion and indeed, all is revealed. The Truth does set you free.
The reason that the truth set us free is because the Bible teaches that Jesus has victoriously defeated sin, death and the devil and now sits in heaven as the "King of Kings and the Lord of Lords" Revelation 19:16. and that we are, "Complete in him" Colossians 2:10.

All that believe the Gospel are spiritually free from sin, death and the devil. Jesus said, "If the Son has made you free, you shall be free indeed" John 8:36.
Again… as you quoted… it doesn’t say us or all, just you.

If there’s an intention for anyone else to get it, you ain’t gettin the message brother. Just in tension with love.

You are not free. You are in bondage to religion.
